Not sure I want his 9M on the books for next year without being able to know if he's completely damaged goods or not. Would rather have that 9M available to sign a different PG.

No one is asking for a 2k shakeup but when the new front office's biggest acquisition in almost two years is Jerian Grant (who might be the worst player in the NBA) I think it's safe to question. "as if it is that easy"

It was one of the weirdest quotes I have ever heard any executive make when Martins said his goal was to win a championship in 15 years whilst every major young player we just drafted would essentially be out of their prime by then.

So he was cryptically announcing are goal was to tank until we landed multiple superstars and then they start messing with the tank to land outside the top 5?

I almost feel this ownership's real plan is to lose, stay mediocre, drive fans away so they can move the team to Vegas, Kansas City or Seattle.

We don’t need to be making mad trades or doing anything reckless. But adding a 20 year old rookie who needs years to develop his game and body and some fringe NBA players to a lottery team doesn’t scream ‘hope’ or ‘progress’.
Where is this team going to get it’s growth? We have maxed out as a fringe 8th seed playoff team. Will get destroyed by Toronto in first round, end up with the 17th pick in the draft and wheel out the same team for the 2019-2020 season.

If the team makes the playoffs this year, that is called development. Each year they will keep getting better. You don't go from Bottom to Contender in one or two years. And, if the team keeps growing then it will get easier to obtain talented Free Agents or make better trades.

I completely understand the context of which it was said, why are you embarrassed by it getting brought up all the time? Are you a member of the Devos family? It was a weird ass thing to say regardless and it's going to keep being brought up on here as long as this team continues to have no direction for the future.

Sorry but your post suggests you didn’t read the Martins quote - he didn’t say the goal is to win a championship by the year 2030 and we’ll base our tanking / team building around that. He was asked where the Magic would be in 2030 and he said his hope is that they would have won a championship and have a winning team.

And it’s embarrassing because people should take the time to appreciate the context of what people say. It raises the level of debate at a time when this is at an all-time low in all areas of society generally. I’m not saying you didn’t take the time to do this, I think you just misread the quote.
