Huh? Why you are posting this in ROY/Rookie Discussion thread?

Does Bagley look bad?

I don't think so.
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

Last week or so, he's started to get minutes and once again brought those same traits every time he stepped foot in the game. And with Crabbe sidelined tonight, he gets his first start. and responded with 15 points, 6 reb in 30 minutes.

Sean Marks appears to have struck a gem in the 2nd round.

Where is Musa? Do you know more about why he is not earning playtime?

Knox has been going off this month. Nice three point shooting already a strong rebounder on the boards and has been showing more potential to put the ball on the floor. He needs to get stronger though so he can finish better and he needs More work on defense but overall solid pick at 9. Liking the upside with Knox

Second youngest player in the draft :)

dzanan musa was a better prospect but barely playing. seems like cant find minutes.
Musa probably is a better prospect but Kurucs is more ready. Kurucs wouldn't have gotten the chances had it not been for early season injuries and struggles by Rondae, Carroll, and Crabbe.

The Nets liked Musa as a 1/2/3 (vs Kurucs who they view as 3/4). Since the Nets like to have their Gs interchangeable he was basically competing for 96 minutes vs Russell, Caris, Dinwiddie, Crabbe, and Harris. Not gonna happen.

He'll get his shot next season barring injuries or trade of one of the vets

Like I said earlier too, he's been generating his own points too. Leading fastbreaks, etc. All without a real PG.

All at such a young age too. He's a REAL student of the game!

Is Kevin Huerter the biggest rookie surprise?

Post#568 » by 316Hornets » Sat Dec 15, 2018 9:48 pm

His wingspan resembles a T-Rex, but his height is above average for a SG.

He's leading all rookies(with more than 50 minutes played) in 3 point fg% at 42.4.

He's 10th in minutes, 6th in assists, and 14th in rebounds.

His last few games have been the stuff you'd expect from one of the top picks in the draft.

Atlanta got this guy with the #19 pick. Is there anyone that is a bigger surprise?

It's a surprise because he missed summer league. Also, there were quite a few years where "good shooters" were drafted too high, such as Mike McDermott, and Nik Stauskas. They could shoot but they couldn't adapt to the speed of the NBA game and thus couldn't stay on the floor.

If Huerter pans out, nice find by ATL.

Rodions Kurucs for me. It's early right now, but he's looking like the steal of the draft as a 2nd round pick. 6'9" with good athleticism, long wingspan, high motor, aggressive mindset and a very developed skillset.

I think everybody knew Huerter could shoot. Hes in a situation where he has the opportunity to take those shots, and hes making them well.

How much can he improve? Thats the issue. But he strikes me as a guy who will have a ten year career knocking down threes.

He's now making the right fundamental decisions more often than not to contest shots within 6 feet.

Doubled his block rate in the past 12 games.

Trollish take which you’ve been aiming at the Kings for awhile

Fox looks a very good pick for his draft. Getting Bogdans rights for the 8th pick in the weak 2016 draft was fine. Even WCS is looking a standard pick relative to what was picked after him.

I wouldn’t move Bagley for the one way aging guards on your team. He’s shown sufficient glimpses. Whether or not he was the right pick is different then “pissing” the pick away

Cauley-Stein = solid for a #6 pick.
Hield = could project into an elite shooter but starting to look good for a #7. Another good pick.
Bogdanovic = another really nice looking shooter
Fox = looks the best of the 2017 guard class
Bagley = starting to really look good. Also kind of hard to draft Doncic when he says he has no intention of signing a contract with them.

That is some solid work and 4 out of the 5 are guard/wings which are in high demand.

I don’t really understand why people are giving the Kings are hard about their recent drafts. They have a really good young team. Even the Bagley pick was a good one for them. They passed on Doncic but Bagley is really a better fit for them.
