He's always has a lot of potential but he just never seem to have put it together and he's honestly never really wow'd me over a 3-5 game stretch.
The question really is whether a change will light a fire under him because unlike Holmes who never really was given a chance, Oubre has had steady and solid PT since his 2nd yr in the league.
Not a fan of Rivers at all but give where we need help, I guess he might be able to help
I'm also into giving him some burn until the trade deadline, think he has potential. Only gripe I have with it is that we've been trying to get rid of headcases and I'm afraid that he is one.
Absolutely hate Rivers, hope he gets cut asap. Don't need James, Knight, etc flashbacks.
He just has very similar weaknesses to JJ which is my main issue. We're already not a good 3PT shooting team where Ariza was actually decent and Oubre has never been very good. He doesnt really create plays and seem to be able to get points in the same way JJ does. So if he gets PT as does JJ that's two similar guys with similar weaknesses and again, no 3PT shot really.
Feels like a double up to me which is my main gripe
not saying Oubre is better than JJ because i don't know enough about him, but i don't think you can come to a conclusion that two players are identical just because their play styles are similar, there are more going on than just the way a player plays that determine his true quality as a bb player. on paper Holmes and Chriss bring pretty much same things to the table but on the court holmes is way more productive for whatever reasons (good attitude, work rate, a functional brain) even though they profile similarly.
