I'd rather be in the playoffs to show top free agents we do have a good core that cares about winning rather than tanking.

Yeah it would have been great for the Nets if Dlo developed. But he's running out of time and I'm just not sure he'll ever develop into the kind of player that this team envisioned him to be.
I see him improving, but he needs more time and he needs to gain lower and upper body strength. We don't have any more time though unless he's willing to take significantly less money to stay here and work. I don't see it happening.
Hell, you can make an argument that if Spencer keeps up this production he's going to push Russell to the 2nd unit.
i think its like 75-80% that Russell is back. It looks like we proabably only sign one max guy like maybe tobias harris and we use the money to retain all our own guys. i think its even likely ed davis is back. Russell i think also would take 4/65 type deal. i think his value is down and i think he knows the situation is great for him here
and he is 100% developing... anyone who says he isnt is just a complete hater.
Career highs right now in points, assists, 3PT%, and PER. and he is up in FG%/3PT%, Steals, Blocks, rebounds, and PPP from last year. his defense and decision making are markably improved and his turnovers are down.
a 22 year old giving you 18/6/4 shooting 36% from deep and playing averagish defense is certainly something worth keeping
and at the end of the day even if fans arent, marks is high on russell i believe
I want him here, I just think it comes down to money.
Having a triple threat at guard of Russell/LeVert/Dinwiddie would actually be ideal especially if we were to land a really good free agent. All three of them have improved.
Ed Davis should absolutely be back. he has been rock solid and an absolute professional.

if we miss out on Klay/Kawhi/Kemba then id rather use the cap to take on bad salary with picks attached and keep rolling with this core. I wouldnt be otto porter level upset i we gave Harris a bid deal since he is a borderline all-star and local kid. but id rather not add him unless we also add a better player then him (Kemba?). id rather add more picks, continue the slow build, and have our picks continue to be organically higher in the draft.
