Any of you guys have, or known someone who has, an OLED tv? I've been back and forth on what tv to get for awhile, and need to pull the trigger soon as the column of dead pixels on my current tv expands. I have a plasma now and love it, OLED seems to be the closer technology but potential burn in and shorter life span have me questioning if it's worth the $800-$1000 price difference.

I’ve had a LG OLED for a few years now and love it. Blacks better than the plasma I had before it. Burn in has never been an issue and I do a decent amount of video gaming. I did have one issue that took some repairs to get taken care of - there was a panel or something that was visable when the screen was gray or not totally black and it drove me nuts. Wonder if that happens on the newer models.

I love it and I may never play online.

That's good to hear. I'm interested in picking it up, but in general I don't play online much, apart from the occasional Overwatch match.

I have a good 15 hours in the single player mode (World of Light). It's got some RPG leveling mechanics and kind of a collect-them-all thing going on with the various spirits. I doubt I'll ever play it online, but I'll play it multiplayer local. Definitely worthwhile.

Yeah, Spirit of Light is a pretty decent single player mode for a fighting game. It can get a little old so I only play in 30-60 minute chunks, but it's easy to come back to and play a few rounds to get some new spirits.

The "classic" mode of taking a fighter through multiple fights is decent enough, also. The final boss is a **** bitch, though.

I definitely have a better understanding of the spirits and overall point of the world of light. I've found myself spending most of my time going between the adventure mode and spirit board now. Ive unlocked around 60 fighters so far with a few that I have to rematch. At some point I'll go back to finishing classic mode with each fighter.

I ended up getting it on Friday and have spent pretty much all of my time with World of Light. I'm already pretty addicted. I've been terrible at fighting games since Sega Genesis Mortal Combat, but I've gotten decent with a few fighters. Donkey Kong has been friendly to button mashing.

I've been doing almost exclusive classic mode and online matches. I'm terrible online, but the 1v1s are pretty fun nevertheless. Classic mode is pretty straightforward - get through a gauntlet with one character, unlock a new character, rinse, repeat. I've found it useful as it has forced me to figure out how to play with each of these guys and figure out who to main. I'm a big fan of Little Mac and Bayonetta, and have unlocked about 45 characters so far.

I'm messed around a bit with World of Light, but I've found the whole spirits thing a bit overwhelming and have no idea what I'm doing there.

Little Mac is a lot of fun. The spirits system is convoluted, but I've picked up on things and they offer nice bonuses during matches. One issue I have is that the fighters you unlock in other modes don't also unlock in World of Light, so I've avoided jumping around to different game types.

I was using Mega Man and Kirby a bunch early on, but have since moved on to other characters the more I've unlocked across the different game modes. Been a big fan of King K. Rool, and while I haven't used them much Pichu/Pikachu seem to be very good in this iteration of the game. I also have enjoyed Roy, who was my guy in Melee when I was a kid, but he's probably not the best FE character in the game.

I'm not a SSB vet, so I'm still working out what types of play styles I like. I think I am coming to prefer swords, and I've been loving Marth thus far. He's also very fast. I haven't unlocked Roy (or any other FE characters) yet.

I've never played smash before. I played it for 20 minutes, and I felt completely lost. I was mashing buttons and hoping things happened.

Guess I have a learning curve. Ha.

That was my experience for the 30 minutes I played on the Wii U.

Love smacking the **** out of people with Dedede, even though I know he's bad at the competitive level.

SSBU was my first Smash game, and it took me until this weekend to realize that I had a separate series of moves I could access by tiling the right joystick in one direction or another. I was literally just hitting A or B and moving the left joystick in the direction I wanted. I didn't realize I had a third set of move options.

Was struggling to get into PoE this league, but I've re-rolled my character and am feeling better about it now. A couple thoughts...

The syndicate should be here to stay, but there's some work to do. It's not as rough as the hunting league with the nets - whatever that was called - but much like how that has been refined (and is now perfect), there's some refinement to go with the syndicates. It's too much having them on every map, for one, and the options of what to do with the characters are too repetitive. It usually just feels like I'm shuffling them back-and-forth between each of the four areas and not making any progress. Still, amazing that they make additions like this every 3-4 months and with another league or two I think this revision will be brilliant, too. To be fair, following-up on Delve is a tough act. Delve was damn-near **** perfect.

Energy Drain builds are a **** bore. That is what I re-rolled from, and I'm so glad I finally just said "screw it" and started over. I considered re-rolling the character a bit, but ultimately I decided to try a more melee-focused build and I'm now working on a double-strike champion. This is my first time doing a melee build in PoE, and I'm enjoying it.

Still, not a whole lot of time to dedicate this league between SSBU and AC Odyssey. But always fun to play.

Man I can't wait for these upcoming holiday weekends. I'm get Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE and New Year Day all off...plus...sweet, sweet, PTO! Using the PTO to fill in the gaps. Will be off work from December 21 - January 2.

Time to nerd out on all of my latest spoils....Smash, Dead Cells, Diablo III, Battlefield V and Mario+Rabbids with the occasional NBA Playgrounds 2. I also really need to finish AC: Odyssey and RDR2...I can do it. BELIEVE TO ACHIEVE!!!!!

I knew I was close, but all of a sudden I had every character unlocked. Mewtwo was my last. Not quite halfway through Classic mode, but I'll finish grinding that out eventually. Trying to build up a solid collection of spirits so I have it easier against some of those ridiculous legendaries. At some point I'll check out online but I'm pretty sure I suck so not exactly dying to get my ass kicked.

I'm currently on my second character. I've gotten my Arc Elementalist to level 93, and the leveling now is just brutal, lol. I died twice last night in pretty quick succession and lost so much experience :banghead:. I've been very lucky with currency drops, so I decided to make another character, this time to focus on boss killing as opposed to fast mapping. Decided to try an Ancestral Warchief Templar for my second build, I think he's up to level 45 or something so far. Totem builds are kind of boring, but I destroy bosses without taking any damage.

I completely agree on the Betrayal and Bestiary League. Bestiary is much improved now that the exiles are automatically captured after you kill them. I wasn't having problems with the Syndicate at low levels, but once I started doing level 14+ maps, they were pretty brutal. Looks like their damage was scaled back a little bit in last night's patch though, so that should help. On some of the higher maps, we could do the convoys pretty easily, but if we saw a fortress or a hideout we would just ran past it almost every time.

All in all, I'm having a great time in the league so far.

Just picked up GTA V for $15 on Amazon. Once I finish Red Dead I guess I'll be sticking with Rockstar now.
