Howard isn't coming back. At least not until March or so.

I think so long as we start evening out and winning games, Howard will make an attempt to come back. I'd personally like him to take his time. I'm also hoping that we can jettison some of our non-contributory players.

I thought I read his rehab would be 6 weeks, is it significantly longer?

2-3 weeks.

It's 2-3 something. Does it really matter?

Kid needs to play in 4th quarters. 15-18 minutes per game is a joke especially when there's no rebounding.

Looking for a silver lining in the midst of this debacle of a season: is it possible that, in Thomas Bryant, we might get 2/3 of Hassan Whiteside's production and none of his craziness? I would see that as a hugely successful pickup.

Lakers drafted Lonzo, Kuzma, Hart and Bryant in 2017. That was a good haul.

Lakers fans still mad they chose Zubac over Bryant.

Yes, he has been a great pickup. And early indicators are that Sam Dekker might be a keeper too. And we know Sato is.

The problem is, it's likely we won't be able to keep them because of luxtax issues. It'll be interesting to see what offers they get. They are all restricted free agents with minimal cap holds, so we can extend qualifying offers and hope that they stay, but if other teams come along and bid up their price, we will have to let them go.

Assuming Howard stays, we will have about $11M to pay the combined salaries of Sato, Bryant and Dekker before hitting the luxtax. Maybe we'll stretch Mahinmi and generate another $10M in luxtax room. I'd love to keep Jeff Green around too.

i was wondering what Thomas Bryant ceiling can be? He's young and still developing him. Lakers are so dumb to give up on him already.

A starting Center on a contender...
Running the court, playing good defense, setting picks, and hitting the occasional 3 is all I would ever need from a 5.
I love his game and his energy. When him, Sato, and Brown are playing, you feel a different energy.

Doubtful. He's an RFA at a position that is flooded right now.
Kanter, Jordan, Vuc, Dedmon, Cousins, KOQ, WCS, Brook Lopez, Amir, Udoh, Monroe, Javale, Noel, Zubac, Birch, Bell are all legit rotation worthy Centers that will be FA's this summer. I just dont see teams willing to overpay an RFA like Bryant with all those guys available.

Wow. Yeah he’s gonna be back either at the qualifying offer or a small short term deal.

Great performance. Hopefully he can build off of it, provided our moron coach actually gives him minutes.

Our Moron coach played him by default. Morris fouled out. Brooks have no god damn clue.

Bruant plays like 7 solid minutes in the first quarter of games, then he's lucky to get back on again in the 3rd. What is Brooks seeing? He's not the greatest defender but at least he hustles. He is light years better than Markieff in that regard and Brooks just continually goes to him. Unless we are trying to build Kieff's trade value...

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

If he doesn't miss any shots the rest of the season, maybe the rest of the league will take notice. He probably won't get additional playing time from Brooks, though.

So, Brooks has proven that he can at least get a team with 3 future Hall of Fame players to the finals. I figure with 5 or so future HOF players the Wizards might have a shot at a title with Scott at the helm.

So, Dwight Howard is certainly future HOF. Maybe now they have another with Bryant. If they sign Durant in free agency they just need two or three more.
