We’ve seen glimpses of it before. Maintaining it has always been the issue.

He did a great job making the schedule.

I am really happy to see Westbrook locking in on the defensive end. He has always had the ability to force turnovers, but also always gave so many back with getting lost in rotations and getting beat on backdoors. He is not disciplined enough to ever be a great on-ball defender, but if he stays disruptive and stays attached in rotations and close-outs, I'll be very pleased. That's a huge asset within a defensive system with lots of tall, lengthy and athletic defenders who can cover ground.

Good win tonight, not because they won, but because they won easily. The rest of December is not friendly, so they needed this one.

I really like some of the bulls core. Lauri and WCJ are nice prospects. Dunn probably won’t be an allstar but I like him. Evertime he gets it going he gets hurt. If he can stay healthy I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make considerable improvement.

It does seem odd to compliment the coaching after a game in which we beat one of the two worst teams in the league. Even if it was a 25 point blowout win.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

He didn't set up a single bench guy for a spot up shot all game long. The only spot up 3 each Abrines and Patterson got, they passed to each other. I don't know what the hell he's doing, but this is not what "running a bench" means.

------------------------------------------------------

Job well done. Defense was OK, not great, but still good enough to keep the Bulls below their league worst season average ORtG. Russ was once again good on the defensive end. They did a little too much switching with Schröder, which I didn't really understand. Speaking of Schröder: Donovan was riding him too long in this one. I think he played like 12 to 15 minutes straight in the 1st half even though he wasn't really doing anything offensively or defensively with the starters out there. Donovan should give Abrines some minutes next to Russ if Schröder keeps ignoring him.

Russ looked a little better offensively imo. Still way off on some of those shots, but looked more poised an in control. He dunked. So did Patterson. in the same game.

My life is now complete.
"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

It was one of the most obvious trip dub hunts we've seen from Russ since that god awful game in PHX 2 seasons ago (when he didn't actually get it). He literally went straight to the bench after Patteson finishes that slam. Seems ridiculous to assert otherwise. I guess it doesn't matter. Lot of stat chasers in the league. Feels like this 'being too good to worry about stats' thing is a relatively recent phenomenon driven by the white urban hipster NBA nerd crowd.

Patterson's dunk was for Westbrook's 11th assist. But yeah, he was looking for the triple-double, though the lead wasn't insurmountable when he entered back (19 IIRC with about 10 minutes left).

He also was diving for loose balls and playing defense during that stretch, so what's the to whine about besides slicks obvious schtick?

Whine? Is it a whine? I'm just calling it like I see it. I don't care that he wants to chase triple doubles as long as he isn't forcing it. Garbage time being garbage time it's the best time for him to hunt those meaningless triple doubles.

I really wouldn’t take too much away from this game. This is just a better team beating up on one of the worst teams in the league.

Adams’ footwork in the post versus Markannen where he finished with a monstrous slam was beautiful, though.
