I agree we need a PG and I’m fine with drafting for fit, but we probably don’t have time or patience to develop a rookie PG since next year we will be in win now mode again. So I think odds are we will try to sign a PG in FA or trade for a PG as opposed to drafting one

They don’t have the time or patience now either

You’d think a team who’s only championships are directly related to HOF PG play would appreciate the position more. Nope. Bandaids for life.

It's true though. The only reason we're talking about this is because we failed to develop the last PG we drafted, and that was even with 2 tanking seasons to experiment. I sure as hell don't trust them to do it next year when they're chasing the playoffs.

Neither do I. We are going all in on playoffs next year. Will the guy we draft even see more than 20 MPG? Probably not, unless he’s a stud out the gate

Yep, and I'm kinda skeptical about if he will be a stud out of the gate, we're talking about moving from a tiny mid-major school playing against schools most people have never even heard of to starting PG in MSG with all the pressure in the world on you. At least Knox as raw as he still is played at Kentucky which probably made him a little more NBA ready coming in even at age 19 and ready to handle the spotlight. I don't think Ja would start even if they did draft him and he'd have a short leash and would be in a timeshare with Frank and Mudiay or whoever is still here. I don't think they'd hand him the keys like the Cavs did Sexton or the Kings did with Fox or the other good rookie PGs we've seen lately. The Knicks would never do that.

Or what ATL is doing with Young. Or OKC did with Westbrook. Or what MEM did with Conley. Or what PHI did with Jrue. Or what .... the list seems endless.

We will never commit to giving the keys to a kid and letting him sink or swim. LHF at all costs.

I think we’re locked into that top 5 area. I see Cleveland and Phx winning more down the road. I don’t see us moving past 5

I'm at 60% Ja Morant/ 40% Nas Little. I wouldn't even complain if we picked up either one.

Nas was my pick before the college season started but with Knox and the possibility of signing kawhi or Durant, I’m going to going with Ja.

Those are the top 3 right now for the knicks imo

Not gonna say I watch a lot of college ball but I trust some of the veteranos in here and if they say Barrett is a ball hogging iso type a la latter years Kobe, then no thanks on him.
Trust but verify.

Then for once we need to show initative and trade up, like Dallas did for Doncic. We actually should’ve sacrificed Frank an our pick if we could have for Doncic.
Trust but verify.

Barrett is a 18 year old kid that just got into college and was playing with a brand new team and there figuring things out. He had questionable decision making but you can already see some of that starting to get cleaned up. More recent games he has been more selective with better shot selection.

He had a bad stretch in Hawaii where Duke was playing a lot on 1 on 1 ball. I think he will be fine as the season goes along.

What’s his position project to be in the pros? I feel like we need a PG or a PF we have enough swingmen.
Trust but verify.

It probably depends who lands where in the Lottery. Someone who needs a Big Man might gamble on him after seeing Bam in Miami & Bamba in Orlando.

Yep, If he keeps gaining notoriety and teams like the Bulls know we want him the will definitely pick him . I think we'll need to secure a top 3 or 2 to get him.

I’m wondering if the Knicks are picking 2 or 3, would they even select Morant. Or will go with one of the Duke kids.

He's a big 2 or a SF that is a playmaker. He's in attack mode like Harden but doesn't have the finesse or vision, kinda just bulldozes his way to the basket right now. He got some T-mac in his game.

If that option was on the table, they should have done it. I doubt it was.

But in this case, yeah, if it means securing a true bonafide PG yeah, maybe one of the young guys has to go. Or a future pick.

watched his highlights, I like him, not sure I would take him top 5 over Little, Reddish, Hachimal
