T&T board top 10 worst contracts - Vote for #3!

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Wed Dec 19, 2018 2:40 am

1. Nicolas Batum (2 year, 49.6 million + 27.1 million 3rd year player option)
2. Chandler Parsons (2 years, 49.2 million)

Please vote for the #3 worst contract in the NBA and nominate a new player to replace them - according to who has the least trade value including production, age, healthy etc., not just who is "least deserving".

Nominees:

Andrew Wiggins (5 years, 147.7 million)

Vote Wiggins

Too much money, too mediocre a player. At least Wall and Paul have shown all star ability

Nominate James Johnson

Would you rather have Turner for 18.9 million next year, or Johnson for 15.3, and then 16.0 mil the year after. I think I would take the shorter money. JJ is 31 year old low skill, athleticism driven player with 9 PER, .020 WS/48, -3.9 BPM and .470 TS%/38% FG. For me JJ and Dieng arguably have worse deals than all the 2 year guy except for Parsons

Vote Dieng. He's not the worst player on the list, but that 3rd year kills it for me.
Nominate: Evan Turner
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

John Wall, he's a productive player but that contract starting next year makes it almost impossible to construct a roster that is anything more than mediocre, John Wall (1 year, 19.2 million + 3 years, 123.7 million extension starting next year, 47.3 million 4th year player option). $37.8 million for 2019-20 is just about untradable.

Nominate: Evan Turner.

Mozgov.

Guys like Wiggins, Wall, and CP3 get paid alot, but they can also eat minutes. Guys getting almost 20 mill and getting dnp cd's are much worse.

Turner

Would you rather pay $17 million for $0 in production, or $45 million for $20 million in production?

Vote: Dieng 3rd year plus being a center really hurts his value. I'd rather have him then Wall or Wiggins, but I think in the actual trade market Minny would have to add a small asset to swap Dieng with a Mozgov/Biyombo/Anderson, while Wall or Wiggins could be dealt for one of those guys and return a small asset as well.

Nom: Felicio Owed $16M after this year for at best a 3rd string center.
