Doc no longer the GM, so can't offer his son a big fat contract.

Interesting to think about Embiid offensively like Cousins - huge, mobile, skilled, dynamic, but not efficient.

Kings got blown out by the Wolves last night, and Joerger benched his starters when they came out sluggish. Interesting to see - was the third game in four nights, so it’s not safe to assume the wheels have fallen off. Rumor they could get Otto Porter for expirings..

SmartWentCrazy wrote:Embiid is so damn overrated. Everyone calls him an MVP candidate but his impact stats suggest elsewise. He’s a great defender but pretty ‘meh’ on offense—he’s turnover prone and scores at a below league average clip for big men [Embiid has a 57.9 TS%, league average for bigs this year is 59.4%]. Dude just spams his usage and everyone falls for it hook line and sinker.

So would this make Jimmy Butler the anti-Shaq. When Shaq was the Magic people said Penny Hardaway was the best player in the NBA. When Shaq was on the Lakers people said Kobe was the best player in the NBA. When Shaq on the Heat people said Dwayne Wade was the best player in the NBA.

Jimmy has the opposite effect. He makes the players around him appear overrated.

It was for contract reasons. You thought it was Oubre who was stirring the lockerroom with the whole "everyone eats" slogan? Nah, they realized their mistake with overpaying Porter Jr

Oubre is an RFA. They could have just not tendered the QO and let him walk. No different contractually than Ariza.

Rivers was included in the deal too and it's very likely he was one of the instigators of the Wizards locker room. His salary didn't match with Ariza's so Oubre inclusion was financially necessary. The Suns also needed something of an asset for relieving Rivers from the Wizards

OK, now I see what you were going for. I thought you were talking Oubre's contract and the Wiz were worried they would pay too much for him next summer and had to trade him to save them from themselves. :D
Though, I could almost see them doing that...

Wait a second, the Nets are on an actual real win streak?

This Lakers team isn't going to cut the mustard.

Lebron's growing bald spot is too distracting. And he is starting to look old and bloated.

bron looks old...smart kyrie left him.

if he doesn't win a couple championships in the next few years it will hurt his legacy. He'll be a major failure in LA, a city with multiple great players who won multiple championships (Kareem, Magic, Kobe, Shaq), if he doesn't accomplish the same. No excuses as this is the team he chose.

I mean, it all kinda came together, killing multiple birds with one stone. Oubre hasn't proven himself enough to earn a fat paycheck so trading him is necessary if the Wizards want to recycle the asset.

Unless they get Davis, they ain't winning ****. And I think Anthony is way closer to Kyrie than he is to LBJ. So to me we have more assets and there's a personal relationship between Kyrie and AD, we're way ahead.
Good assessment:

Jarret Allen is an afro hero. Shame on y'all who say it negatively impacts players.

This is too funny. I stated that Oubre was being traded for 2 reasons and poster #1 agrees with one of those and not the other and poster#2 agrees with the second point, but not the first. So they are both wrong and right. Thanks everyone
