UCF wrote:Good class so far... missed out on a couple but nothing shocking. Just need Dillon to sign and I’ll feel a lot better about this recruiting class. I’m most excited about Cutts. He’s going to light it up on defense.

Only one we missed that I was pumped for was Brownlee (signed with FSU). Still waiting on Dillon, Baker, and Goode. Land those 3 and this is a GREAT class for us, with a few other possibilities still out there as well.

Yea, but not Goode

edit: think Goode is a transfer from VT so wouldn't count against the cap I think.

Names to watch for the rest of the day...

QB Dillon Gabriel
WR Jarrad Baker Jr
DT Cam Goode
DE Tre’Mon Morris-Brash
DT William Hancock
DE Dallaz Corbitt

Expecting Gabriel, Baker, Goode, Hancock and Corbitt to all sign.

Morris-Brash might not sign today, but I think he'll be a top target for the next signing day.

So far we’re rates the top G5 recruiting class... top 60 overall. Lots of Florida high school commits.

one of the worst streaming attempts I've seen from Florida Today for his event. Ended up having to wait for a tweet because the video was so poor.

Morris-Brash will NOT be signing today. Expect his announcement in January.

Hancock was a VERY late commit (just committed two days ago) and I wonder if UCF might be holding him off just in case they need the scholarship free.

Goode is announcing at 5pm ET. Gabriel around 5:30pm ET. I think both will be Knights and will bring the signed total to 18.

Other players that committed that will not be signing today (and may not be signing at all depending on if UCF needs their spots) are...

OL Allan Adams
OL Marcus Finger
DE Miles Dickens
LB Kendre Gant
DB Deonte Stanley

Update on Hancock...

He will be signing with UCF today. Just wanted to wait and do the official announcement after his family got off work so they could be there with him.

Assuming Gabriel and Goode both announce for UCF this evening, that will be 19 signings (transfers count, so Goode and Hayes are part of this).

Leaves 6 spots open for the second signing period. The Knights have 5 commits right now, but could hold off on 1-2 of those guys if the right transfers come available.

I’d say the early signing period has been good for us this year. Hopefully in that remaining count we find a QB or two (if Dillon doesn’t sign).

Dillon Gabriel has signed with UCF. :D

For those not in the know: Gabriel is from the same high school as Milton in Hawaii. All-time leading passer for Hawaii high school football. Great get, and sorely needed with KZ out next year.

Gabriel and Goode both signed.

Should get something from Hancock today too. That will give them 19 signings.

Moving forward... they have 6 open spots and 5 commits, but of those five commits I think they might only take 3 or 4 of them.

I think they’re very much in play for a transfer at QB.

I guess Mack and Gabriel will compete for the starting QB role next year, Mack hasn't lost the starting QB job but I guess he'll still have to earn it in preseason.

My expectation for 2019’s QB depth chart...

1. Mack
2. Q. Jones (I believe he could be put on scholarship)
3. Gabriel (goes to #1 if Mack is injured)

In a perfect world Mack will beat out Gabriel (if Gabriel beats him out that’s perfectly fine too) and stay healthy enough to allow Gabriel to play in the allowed four games and maintain his redshirt next year.

The transfer QB being the freshman from UM?

Of course no can tell about this recruiting class for a couple of years, but it looks like a really good class as of now.

A lot of needs have been addressed.

And, speed kills .... much more on the way.

Interesting development...

Kam'ron Green did not get a scholarship. He's apparently joined as a walk-on. He tore his ACL and barely played this year. Maybe the staff wants to monitor his health this spring and summer before deciding on his scholarship status for 2019.

Either way, another spot open for now.

I don't know who specifically they'll pick up, but I feel pretty confident they'll bring in someone.

Jordan Travis of Louisville is a name they were connected to pretty heavily.
