If we gave up a 20% chance to have a top pick, that is a real concession on our part.

Why give them that concession? Travis clearly does not understand leverage.

Because he liked the deal too. If he had believed in Luka, he would have had never traded him. He believed that he was getting better player and additional pick.

Maybe he should have believed in him.

21 assists against 6 turnovers is pretty darn nice. (Basketball Reference has him for 9 assists and 12 assists in the two games)

lmao at the haters on this thread trying to pretend that they aren't hating. "I said if you take his worst 3 game sample of the year and extrapolate that as a hypothetical baseline to what he will do for the rest of the season that he will suck and that is right!" Come on. Kid will have his ups and downs but he has already shown he is special and all the stupid "he is so slow he won't be able to get his shot off or effectively set people up" junk that posters predicted for him is just bunk. His worst TS% in a month is .540% so far.

No need to hate on Luka to defend Trae. Trae has had some nice moments himself and we'll be enjoying a lot more of them before he is done as a Hawk. He doesn't need people to dump on Luka to make him look good just like Luka doesn't need Bagley to fail to make him look good. They just play and their play makes them look good.

I'm assuming that little comment there is directed at me. I was not dissing Luka at all. Was refering to his efficency dropping lately and I didnt use a three game sample.

If you read my comments you'll notice plenty of praise for Luka and nothing I said was to put him down in order to defend Trae.

I was specifically referring to espn and how even Lukas poor efficiency games are praised as if he shot 75%. Some hear even shatted on Trae for the first Dallas game because he shot poorly, but got to the line 10 times.

There is just a bit of double standard. Lukas way more consistent and is by far the rookie of the year at this point. I'm just preaching patience with all rookies regardless of how the media portrays them.

After tonight’s game, 32/4(all off.)/5/4, Fg. 50% and 3pts. 50%, we can officially say that his shooting slump is over. Btw. He was beaten all day by nice guys from L.A.

P.s. I have a feeling that unlikely scenario, Mavs having top4 draft pick this year, is going to happen. :D

Never thought I would say this, but fair play to Mike Korzemba who predicted that Luka Doncic would become NBA's best rookie since LeBron James himself for over a year ago.

The latter is easily a generational talent and we fecked up for giving him away for a significally inferior player in Trae Young, which will go down as one of the worst trade in NBA history. Luka Doncic, if he doesn't get serious injuries, can surpass Dirk Nowitzki and make into the GOAT conversation while clearly being the best player in the next decade or so.

Giving a great player away is a mistake. A cardinal rule.

But listing Luka as potentially GOAT? No. Too soon to even consider it.

NOTE: Luka's production this year is a bit inflated with new rules benefiting offense and all teams scoring at higher rates than ever before.

Why are they trying to guard Luka with such small guys?

Nah. Luka's kinda chubby.

Plus he doesn't get high enough off the ground for that type of injury.

He does strike me as a guy who will consistently be targeted by young black wing players around the league for years to come.

But that's something most Euro's have to deal with, particularly high profile ones.

I wouldn’t fight Jaylen if I’m Luka...don’t do it..clean up isle 9...

But Luka’s lower body is still subject to injury imo

He is most likely to go against the Blazers tomorrow though. Happy Holidays to you!

Luka Doncic has been in the NBA for 2.5 months & he's already gaining tons of respect from established superstar players.

Guys, i don't think you need to rub it on Hawks fans faces every time Luka does something, c'mon :D It's not like he will suddenly come play for them. Trae and Huerter will be nice together as long as Trae stays disciplined with his shooting.

Hey it's ok. Who needs a generation talent like Doncic since we are getting a crappy rotational guy with pick #13. Travis S. is a f'ing idiot.

We aren't looking for "nice." We need stars.
