I would maybe make an exception for Barret or Cam because if were going by letter grades I would put those guys at like B plus level...if we were getting another higher level young proven nba level player with them then maybe I would consider jt

So like for example let's say the Wiz start to really falter and they desperately want Zion to start fresh and get a legit top 5 player potential guy. If they end up with 2 or 3 while we get 1 then I would heavily consider taking Beal and Barret or Reddish for Zion. Something along those lines...

Theres not a lot of viable examples of that naturally because tanking teams are generally devoid of legit proven NBA talent so it's hard to come up with a realistic construct like that.

That's a fair viewpoint

It's kinda hard to judge what a trade might look like cause there are so many variables still in play, like we have no idea who's gonna be picking top 5, if there's gonna be a team with a top 5 and top 10 pick, or if anyone else distinguishes themselves as the year goes on

I think it's not totally blasphemous to say trading back might be a good idea, even if it means losing Zion. To me, he's like I said, and A-class prospect, I've comped him to Larry Johnson, maybe Barkley at his absolute peak if everything goes right, but more realistically he's a Larry Johnson type. That's not an insult, he's clearly the best prospect at this moment and worthy of a #1 pick (unlike say, 2013 when there really wasn't anyone worthy of a #1 pick at the time), but he's not good enough for me to say there's no package that I'd trade him for

I think barkley is his floor, the kid is bigger, possibly stronger, and way more athletic , not to mention a better passer than Barkley.

Barkley is his floor

His floor is an MVP, HOF caliber player

You're either overrating Zion or underrating Barkley, or both

Lol. The only prospect you could have maybe said that their floor was a HOF caliber player is Lebron and honestly that still seems preposterous.

His weight, strength, and athleticism negates the height in my opinion as far as position. Yeah he’s a little short. But he’s a 280 pound power house. Even if you’re a little taller, he out weighs you. He’s going to physically move you and over power you regardless of height. He’s going to bounce up and equalize that height. We’ve seen shorter big forwards that were stacked do this in the past. I actually think the shorter height is going to draw more fouls. Because longer lighter guys are going to be thrown off balance. Defensively too. The physical strength is just too much. He’s a tree stump with a rocket attached.

There's no reason he shouldn't be atleast as good as Barkley and yes Barkley was damn good.

Anyone else think Zion is a bit too heavy? LeBron, Davis, and Embiid are around 250, and they're taller than Zion. 280+ pounds?? That feels like one bad summer away from having weight issues IMO

He's big, but not fat

He slimmed down to 270, I believe? this year, which is around what LeBron was at in Miami, but LeBron is a genetic masterpiece in that he has been able to avoid serious injury despite his insane athleticism, height, and weight combo

It's a little bit of a concern for his knees as he ages imo, and I'd rather him get to a playing weight of 255-265 cause he'd still be bigger than pretty much everyone at that weight, and it'd make it easier on his knees for the long term

I hope we get this zion williamson guy. My 2nd option would be Ja Morant. I like R J Barrett but we got Knox. Cam Reddish? Hell nah.... Bol Bol? We got zing and mitch

Ja Morant looks like the best 2nd option to me. He reminds me of De'Aaron Fox. He's what the Knicks need at point guard

Barkley was an mvp and a hall of famer. So, his floor is Barkley and his ceiling is... Barkley?

He's an anomaly physically. Guys with that kind of weight and body frame usually don't jump like that. The thing I worry with him is will he be able to keep weight down when he has injuries. A dude like him could put on some serious weight if they aren't actively burning off calories and aren't disciplined about their diet. Guys are a little more knowledgeable these days but still it's something to worry about a bit with him.

Barkley was a top 5 player in the 90s. If Zion is as good as him, the Knicks hit a home run.

Zion's potential is even higher than Barkley's since he's bigger, more explosive, quicker laterally and he's already surprisingly polished as a ball handler, playmaker & finisher around the hoop. But his floor isn't a hall of famer and top X player all time, kid is still going to need to learn a lot & polish his skillset to get to sir Charles' level.
