T&T board top 10 worst contracts - Vote for #6!

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Sat Dec 22, 2018 7:07 am

1. Nicolas Batum (2 year, 49.6 million + 27.1 million 3rd year player option)
2. Chandler Parsons (2 years, 49.2 million)
3. Andrew Wiggins (5 years, 147.7 million)
4. John Wall (1 year, 19.2 million + 3 years, 123.7 million extension starting next year, 47.3 million 4th year player option)
5. Chris Paul (3 years, 115.5 million + 44.2 million 4th year player option)

Please vote for the #6 worst contract in the NBA and nominate a new player to replace them - according to who has the least trade value including production, age, healthy etc., not just who is "least deserving".

Nominees:

Vote James Johnson

Johnson and Dieng are both role players with 3 years left making 15 mil+ a year. Dieng is more expensive but I feel the downside to taking JJ contract is really bad, as in he could be unplayable after this season. Last year he had 15.8 PER, .122 WS/48, 1.7 BPM, 50.3% FG, .575 TS%. This year he has 9.5 PER, .025 WS/48, -3.8 BPM, 38.8% FG, .466 TS%. This is not the direction want to see out of highly paid player who's 32 in two months.

I'm going with Dieng at #6. I do think it's possible for the Wolves to trade him if there is a contending team that needs a Center and had a 2 yr contract that was about the same size. Or if Minn was willing to add a protected #1 to a team like Cleveland for a player like JR Smith. Smith is guaranteed $3.87 million in 2019-20 Minn could buy him out maybe get a small discount on this season. IDK if 1 #1 is enough probably takes a #1 and a #2 pick.

I nominate Kevin Love.

Vote: Dieng

Johnson was a starter-quality player just last season, so IMO there's a better chance that he bounces back to useful. He's also not a center, so there's more position demand then Dieng.
