Beal can’t be your closer because he falls down on half of his possessions in crunch time. Great guy for first 46 minutes though.

Brooks will continue playing Morris until the team manages to get rid of him.

Fell asleep halfway through the 4th and I am glad that I hung in there to finish the game in the morning.

Great effort by a shorthanded team. Satoransky continuing to show that he belongs, Bryant demonstrating that Brooks needs to trust him more and then there's Morris, again making a case for not being on the floor - at all.

Beal with some next level finishing inside. The array of reverses and tear drops off the glass he hit the Suns with inside were incredible.

You typically don't see guys hit 40 points with 4 made threes whilst only getting to the line for 2 shots all game, and he managed to do it shooting over 50% on 33 FGAs.

The 8 turns are a blemish, but he more than made up for it with the countless buckets he created for Bryant and the rest of his teammates.

Glad they pulled that one out, that would have been a heartbreaker to lose after all the work those guys put into the game.

And he had 15 assists. I’ve seen quite a few big turnover games from most primary ball handlers around the league this season, it happens. Now I’m not saying Beal doesn’t make some frustrating decisions with the basketball, but you’re cherry picking what stats to consider because you hate the team’s direction/management. I get it, you want EG/Brooks/Ted and some players gone, so do I. Hopefully we get two of the three (Ted ain’t happening), but do we have to blot out every positive ray of hope in the process?

Wizards are still shorthanded, aren't they? Morris has many flaws, but a DNP would be a pretty extreme reaction to a player who had 20 points in the previous game. Not playing him down low against much bigger and stronger players would be a smart move, maybe just use him as situational big off the bench, backing up Ariza, Green, and Bryant up front until Porter is back in the lineup.

This game didn't have any big impact on the way I view Wall. Wall's an often frustrating but extremely talented player with a huge contract. Beal's and the Wizards' game doesn't change that, and if Wall is traded, future improvement would really depend on what they got in return/had to give up to move him and who would be assembling the new collection. I'm not predicting moving Wall alone is going to necessarily improve the team. Besides, Wall seemed to fully enjoy the win. He looks part of the team.

I just like the signs that maybe Beal really can be a finisher, which might change some Wizards fortunes in close games. Also, Bryant might be a long term keeper. He can miss a shot now and then.

If Beal is your best player...you in the lottery guys...fools gold. Beal better than Wall because of the contract situation. If Beal was supermax we would be dying to trade him too.

This is all true, but irrelevant. I don't think Beal will ever get a supermax because I don't think he'll meet the criteria.

Nobody thinks we're a contender with Beal as the best player. I think Beal is an extremely good and extremely consistent player though. He's a Paul George/Al Horford (prime years) tier player - a guy you love to have and you hope can emotionally lead your team, but he's going to need some more talent alongside him to really push for contention. I do think a Beal-led team can avoid the lottery though, but they'd only win 40-45 games.

But the same holds true for Wall. He's no first tier superstar either. But the difference is that Wall shows an inconsistency of effort and discipline that is toxic for team chemistry over the long term. He is much more frustrating because it seems like he doesn't maximize his physical talents anywhere near as much as Beal does.

And he had 15 assists. ...

I wasn't able to watch the game, but it's on my DVR & for sure I'll watch it later today! Note from the box that Beal also had 11 rebounds.

Why'd they start Melton then give him only 20 minutes after he went 4-5 (10 points on 5 shots!) & had 3 steals? Injured...?

(I'm sure at least some of you will recall that Melton was one of the top guys on my list of R2 picks to target in June: I wanted 2-3 guys from that outstanding R2 crop).

Wow Thomas Bryant!!!

Edit: Gotta mention Richaun Holmes as well -- one of the guys I've wanted on this team since 2015!!!

My opinion. You Wall stans are rather pathetic...just reading up on your comments in this thread. Who cares who's better than Beal. He carried a team in a triple OT game when it would have been easy to give up. Yes, it's better than Gil's 60-pt game.

Sad times if Beal’s game last night over one of the worst teams in the league was better than Gil’s 60 over Kobe & the playoff making Lakers in Staples.
