None of the ineffectiveness of Austin Rivers mattered to Scott Brooks when it came to awarding minutes. Rivers played a lot more than Sato.

Thoughts and prayers to Grizzlies fans on the signing of Austin Rivers. I guess MarShon Brooks now really out of Memphis.

Well done -- no one mentioned this until you!

Here's a guy whom the worst team in the league waived! They save no $$ by doing that, btw. Yet, Scott Brooks thought well enough of Austin Rivers to play him 24 minutes a game.

What more of an indictment of Scott Brooks is needed?

Rivers played 31 minutes in his debut in Houston on national TV in a 4-point win against the Thunder. He scored 10 points on 8 shots (TS%.600) including 7 of Houston's final 9 points in a tight 4th quarter. He led the team in plus-minus.

Just sayin'.

ps - I supported dumping Rivers. I'm just saying that there may be a role for him in this league on the right team.

Absolutely - as a 4th or 5th guard in your roster playing 10-15 mins/game unless he's hot. The problem is that our coach is a moron and played him way too much. Same with Morris - at least 20-25 mins a game no matter how he plays.

Austin Rivers in Wizards. Terrible shots, holding ball to much, crazy decision-making plays, eating minutes of more skilled player in Sato
Austin Rivers in Houston. Quality bench minutes. Few points and assists to help the team, valuable rotation piece.

I know it helps to have Harden in your team but still he looks totally different. 2 wins vs really good teams too. 2 games with positive +/-

Both games he played 30+ minutes too.

Never wish anyone ill, so I hope you are right. & he did score well in that game. However, in 31 minutes he managed 2 rebounds, 1 assist & 5 fouls.

He was actually a little better last night vs. the Celtics.

Return to Washington Wizards
