How about Randle with 5/16 shooting but 13 free throws?

You didn't watch the game. Last 4 FTs were intentional. But Luka got hacked about 8 times with no call.

He attacks the basket a lot which creates contact with the defender - a little Hardenesque in that way.
Understandably annoying to the opposition but his 3pt% has fallen a bit since early this season so I guess the alternative is to attack the basket.

Absolutely! There could easily be 3-4 superstars that come out of this draft class if not more.

All top picks have been great so far. But some are destined to be superstar and some are just great players.

Was the continuation not being called at the end of the game a correct decision by the ref? Seemed to me like it should have been a continuation, but with the new rules, I'm not quite sure.

Maybe it’s simply because he’s a rookie but he’s had several continuation buckets that he should have gotten that he hasn’t. He’s also been getting fouled like crazy without any calls. He got a busted lip tonight with no foul call.

He was legit fouled on that play and was fouled by AD a play or two before that where he got a bloody lip and no foul was called.

I'm not sure about multiple "superstars" but I could see multiple all-stars from this draft class.
We haven't even seen Michael Porter Jr play in the NBA yet. I suppose coming into the NBA injured isn't exactly a great start but there is always a possibility of ending up more like Embiid rather than like Oden.

Good class indeed. Even some goodies in the 2nd round.

Doncic probably wins ROY

Ayton, Doncic, and Jackson could all reach superstar status. Bagley is also putting up really good numbers for a rookie. Over the next 3 seasons if he can develop a consistent 3 pt shot and a post game he could also reach that level.

Maybe ... I think the definition of a "superstar" varies from person to person.

For me, a "superstar" is a player who has seriously been in contention for MVP or has won MVP at some point in their career.
So a guy like Carmelo, who has ten all-star selections, has never really been seriously considered for MVP so I've never really seen him as a superstar.

Ayton's defensive plays from OT:

Seems to be improving on defense every game. Marked improvement in rim protection.

Luka with 38 assists to 9 turnovers (7.6 to 1.8) in his last 5.

There was nothing impressive about either of those sequences. Literally any big man could/should have done that. I'd be more impressed if he kept Thomas O'Bryant from going 13-13.

Doncic' assists number was bound to come out. Everybody knew what kind of playmaker he was. Once Carlisle gave him the absolute "green light" (the HArden/Lebron kind of light) and teammates adjusted to him monopolizing the ball and playing "around" him it was only a matter of time.

This no-defense/fake-fouls NBA is tailor-made for players like Doncic, while we are back to disregarding other team players.
