Tonight will be great. Frank is playing and Timmy probably isn't or won't be playing much. This should make the board happy.

Simple. When you play again play that way again. Don't average 3 points on 21 per cent shooting and not do anything else.GONYK wrote:prophet_of_rage wrote:GONYK wrote:Frank drove 4 times in 14 minutes against Atlanta.
What is this magical "aggressive" threshold that he needs to meet to not get a DNP?
Consistency. He's only had 4 dnps.
How could he be consistent if he's benched the next game?

His rebounding, defense, offense, everything took a dive. At the very least he has to find a way to stay aggressive on both ends if he wants to stay on the court. I hope he comes back hungry.

I think what really bothers me is not playing the kid when his parents flew in from France and went to the game. I mean come on now. That's actually pretty bad on Fiz's part and Frank should be mad. 20 year old kid has his proud parents in for Christmas and to watch their kid play in the NBA and you can't play the kid on your losing lottery bound team.
This isn't grade school, college or even a movie. So let's say he does play him and momma gets to see Frank's terrible play. Then what? Who cares? I'm sure she's fine with the cheque Frank gets. I'm pretty sure frank is more than content with the cheque he gets. He's not playing like he wants more.
It's about showing some respect to a player and letting the kid get some minutes in a game so his parents can watch him play but maybe you just don't understand that. Fiz sure did throw around how much this season is about developing the young players but i guess that was just talk cause he sure hasn't let Frank play enough to get the chance to develop. If we were any good at all then i could see not playing him but we stink and Frank should be getting game time.

and why are we counting "drives" as the be all end all to anything?
Burke can drive 10 times and no one will score because no one respects his passing game

Lol, with all due respect this is ridiculous. Frank is not a child. This is a professional league not a rec league. Fiz doesn’t OWE Frank anything. This is the divide right here between us high on Frank and those of us not so high on him. Stop coddling him. Can you imagine how you would feel as a teammate who worked hard on his game all summer that you have to sit because your teammates family came to watch him play? Do you see how that sounds? Do you see the position that puts fiz in as coach? He’s the coach of the Knicks, not Franks personal coach. Therefore it is up to Frank to figure it out. Lastly, we can debate about whether fiz put Frank in the best situation to maximize his talent, I can respect that argument even if I disagree. However, even when Frank was getting 30 mins a game his play wasn’t all that inspiring. So that leads me to believe like many others that Frank just isn’t very good right now and I’ll trust the coach to do what it takes to reach him rather than expect him to give frank UNDESERVED minutes.

I couldn't get through your whole page of blah blah blah but from what Fiz says Frank is working his azz off in practice as well so i guess he should be playing as well, that is what you said. Fiz talked over and over again about developing the young guys and Frank was our lottery pick just two years ago so i guess what you think is that we give up on a kid that EVERYONE knew was gonna take time to develop. I guess a year and a half is enough time for you and some others. I don't have it in me to go back and forth about this cause i believe what i believe and you believe what you believe so we agree to disagree.....or at least i do.

Frank didn't start the season at 30 minutes a game? Frank didn't play worse than he did last year? Frank didn't admit that he has a mental block translating what he wants to do on the court to actually doing it? Frank stinks amongst the stinkers at his position. And frank isn't the only young player. Is Knox being developed? And he's 19. Did he go through the same benching Frank did? Yes. Was he promised a starting spot and that got yanked from him when he couldn't even deliver the minimum? Yes. Did he get back in the lineup. Yes.
Was Dotson given time to develop? Yes. When his production flagged was he shown the bench? Yes. Did he get back in when he was ready? Yes. Did he produce? Yes. What is so special about Frank Nkilitina that he has to be coddled?
As for Christmas. Remember how ludicrous Larry Brown was considered for starting guys in their hometowns and on their birthdays? No why? Because it's ridiculous. This isn't college. It isn't rec ball or AAU as people like to keep remarking. You're mad at a 2-3 zone, but you want a guy to play because his mom is in the crowd. What about his girlfriend? Mistress? Best friend? Fans? It's a professional ball game. Can you go to work and say give me a featured role because my mom is in the parking lot? No.

We aren't, but he isn't penetrating, he isn't finishing, he isn't rebounding. He isn't scoring. He isn't doing anything.

Since when is making shots the standard?
Fiz has repeatedly said that he doesn't want Frank to worry about missing shots.
I think you can imagine how easy would be to list the players on this team shooting like trash and maintaining spots in the rotation.

We have no identity.
FWIW the Knicks are 9th in frequency of open looks. So for our lack of system we seem to get good shots.
interesting stat. where you get that one from?

Tommy was somewhat funny. Tina is just dumb, immature and misogynistic.

I was wondering what Tina Cervasio did to deserve such slander.

What are Frank's points per 36 and what are Hardaway's? 10 to 22. Twice the scoring twice the minutes? Plus more rebounds and assists? C'mon. You know why Hardaway stays on the floor. He is the vet and the floor leader and the most prolific player on the team. Yes, that's why we're 9-26, but it is what it is. Hardaway is a better shooting guard than Frank is a basketball player period.
Tammy is a finished product and here sucks, Frank is still developing. How is that so Fkin hard to understand?
Why is Timmy finished? There aren't parts of his game he can't improve? There aren't parts he can't develop? Aren't they developing him as a number one scorer?
Can he become a steady number 3 scorer first?
I think prolific means something different to each of us

How is going to be a steady number 3 without reps at the number 1. And it's a throwaway season. So why not see what you can do with a guy under contract the next two years.
See how it's done?
See how it's done?
