Not the draft you want that in. Unless you use those picks to try and trade up.
Why, this draft looks fine to me. There are always quality players at 16, you just have to draft them.
This draft is atrocious. There will be a spattering of good players to come out of it, but this is the worst draft in several years. After the top few picks it’s worse than 2016. Heck it might be worse than 2013 after the top 2/3.
Really, really bad draft.
2016 they got Yabu and Zicic and neither one came over immediately which was pretty useful for long-term roster construction. Zizic was used to acquire Kyrie and also looks like he'll have a career as a good backup C. Ainge could easily have drafted Siakam and Brogdon that year too and then it looks like an amazing draft. Jaylen Brown looks like a middling Top-3 pick and they got nothing from the second round, but that's pretty typical.
There are plenty of good players in this draft from my view, but who knows. But yeah, they could just trade all the picks and salary to get AD, too. Who knows, but I still like players in this draft and there are all-star level players drafted 9-16 every year, so just make good draft picks if you keep them.
Like always there are tons of ways the roster could shake out. They could lose Rozier/Morris/Baynes/Theis this offseason. Less likely they could also lose Kyrie. I don't necessarily want to add 4 rookies (draft someone like Luka Samanic and stash him), but there is certainly potential for there to be plenty of open spots on the roster and integrate two rookies like they've been doing the past few years. And if Horford/Hayward/Kyrie are all on the team on max deals you need to fill out the roster with cheap players. There exists some universe where Hayward/Kyrie/Brown/Tatum are all on max or near-max deals, if Brown develops even a modicum of feel for the game.
2013 draft was a fine draft, plenty of starting level players in the top 16. If you have a chance at CJ McCollum, Kelly OIynyk, Steven Adams and Giannis in that range, you call that a bad draft?
