Hopefully that’s a sign that Vlade has made an offer that’s been rejected and he is holding firm.
Wizards simply aren’t going to get a huge amount for him given the current climate and where everyone is at, which might just net us a bargain trade.

Wizards are now 12&20. My guess, they need 41 wins to get in the playoffs. So, right now they need to play near to .600 to make the playoffs. If the Nets keep winning - it may force the Wizard's hand.

Just a note: Wizards are now 3-10 without Otto Porter in the past 2 seasons including the playoffs.

Yeah good points.
Each and every loss puts pressure on the FO to do something. Let’s hope that something is with the Kings.

Yeah, I'm not sure how firm he should hold, if that is indeed what is happening. I'd be willing to pony up an asset for Porter, I think.

But IDK. I can't get a read on what Washington's approach is right now. They're still way over the luxury tax, and I'd bet likely to move Wall this summer, but not before then. So the question is how desperate are they to get under the tax? I think we're the only way they can, which means we can force their hand to some degree. It's just a question of if we can force it enough to get Porter for basically just taking on salary.

Lol. Porter is hurt, not benched. You’re misreading the comment.

Brooks is saying He will start with Porter as the tandem 3/4.

I have been debating if it is worth an asset to get Porter. On one hand, I think that there would be a lot of teams in on him, even those who have cap space in the offseason. It is tough to get a player with his skillset. On the other hand, the Kings are the only team that can get the Wiz out of the tax this year or give them a significantly smaller bill. And we have expiring contracts. So, I think the Wiz are going to have to choose between tax help now or an asset now.

Lots of debate on the Wizards board about what direction they will head. I don't think the Wizard FO knows what direction it will go.

They could ignore the Luxury tax and then try to move Wall and build around Porter/Beal. They could move Wall/Porter and build around Beal. They could try to move Wall but fail... then what?

Lots of Wiz fans think they will do the wrong thing and move Beal because he would fetch the most assets.

Really it is a cluster. I think Porter would fit really well into the run oriented Kings offense and he is a really good transition defender. For next year, it would allow the luxury of having a Fox/Hield/Bogs backcourt with Porter/Bjelica/Jackson as forward rotation and still have depth with Mason/Ferrell. Then the just need to figure out what to do with the C position.

We will see...

As much as I'd like to get on the Porter bandwagon, I find it dubious when a player's numbers go down after getting a fat contract. One of the many reasons why I don't want to resign WCS for anything more than his true worth.

Is there any reason for Porter's numbers to be down this year compared to the previous two years? If it's something other than lack of effort then I'll be more optimistic with a Porter signing.

Well let’s see:

His team is a complete disaster.

He’s been hurt.

The teams management and coaching is a complete disaster.

IDK, there’s only been a couple little things.

You nailed it.
1) He has been playing hurt. He is a very dinged up athlete right now...
2) Wall/Beal's usage is off the charts - they just don't get the ball to Porter
Also,
3) The Wizards are terrible with him out of the lineup

When no injured, he would be the best two way player on the Kings. But the best part is that he would really help Fox and he would mesh well with this pass first team.

So basically there's every reason to believe his lackluster play is NOT due to a lack of motivation, heart, competetive spirit, and more to do with factors outside of his control.

If we don't land Porter we should be pulling up the brinks for Middleton.

Bucks used 1st round pick to move out Delli and Henson and free cap space. They will offer him max deal without a doubt.

Yeah and I don’t believe he’s worth that anyway. He is second tier. That’s not max but he is going to get that from someone.

The Wizards aren't making the POs from here. They will want to see what they can do though with Otto and Ariza both healthy which means they won't do anything until mid January at the earliest. If the Wizards continue to lose it won't bode well for his value though.
I'm more worried about the injury to be honest and I wouldn't be surprised if the Kings are closely following his progress with his agent.

The flip side to a lot of this is with Oubre getting dealt to the Suns and them not wanting him initially, they won't be matching an offer for him at all I wouldn't think.
I'm nowhere near as high on Oubre as I used to be, but he might cost a little less than first thought. Having said that, I'm more inclined to sign Shumpert to a 2-3 year deal and continue looking for that bigger 3 that can also move to the 4.
