Even if the Magic tank at this stage, they are not getting a top 5 pick. There are too many worse teams in the league. Would be another waste of a season of player development and culture. It really is a waste to even debate at this juncture as it is not going to happen. But, those who do want to tank can whine for another 4 months.

Well with new lottery odds, we don’t have to
blatantly tank. Just continue playing Magic basketball and we’ll have a shot at top 5 pick.

But I am starting to wonder if WeHam have the scouting acumen to draft any star player.

There are too many worse teams out there. Besides, most likely to end up with another Hezonja or average starter. Outside of getting Zion or Barrett, no player is going to be a difference maker except in fans wet dreams.

I dont know how can you say this with a straight face after loses to Bulls and Suns
Not many teams (if any)play worse basketball than us atm.Imo we can easly catch up.
DOnt underestimate our suckness.Last game looked nice for the eye but take out DJ amazing game and scale it to his usuall game production and it could easly be a 15+ points loss.

The roster and starting lineup hasn’t changed in years. Why would anyone expect wildly different results year after year with the same starters running the show? It’s been nothing but predictable to anyone that can see the roster has been inherently flawed.

Kind of like “evaluating” a roster that’s been unsuccessfully losing every season with 5 years of data to prove it.

We have a worse team now then we did years ago with Oladipo, Harris, Dedmon, O'Quinn, and others.

Magic guard Jonathon Simmons is expected to enter the potential trade market this season, rival teams believe. Simmons, who is in the second year of a three-year deal with the Magic, has seen his minutes diminish this season.

Vuc and Fournier are probably making vacation plans already. At least if they go through the motions with Clifford I expect him to start cutting minutes.

Yes they need to train super athletes to be able to compete in the NBA. It's hilarious watching Founier hold players defensively be cause he can't keep up. Sure if we're lucky we can win a few games but luck isn't sustainable.

Evan has better def rating than:
Beal, Shumpert,Deroan, Eric Gordon, all 3 holiday bros including one who is elite defender, Jimmy Butler, Klay Thompson and many other "defenders" you are just blind hating since year started.
Evan isn't future DPOY but isn't trash defender, overall Magic defense isn't bad at all, it's 15# in nba ,league average
Magic main issue is anemic offense mostly because team lacks depth and starting PG . That's why offensive rating is 27# and bench production, despite Ross, is 26# .

I'm annoyed that you push your "trade Vuc and Evan they suck" agenda and than you are flat out blind how terrible Bamba is and how Magic need to get SG in return for Evan because on that bench nobody but Ross can even start in G league. Literally.

And Clifford praised Evan lot of times for defense this year, so no, he won't get min reduction ESPECIALLY because in last 5 he is averaging 18 ppg on 46% FG and 43% for 3 but now everybody else can't hit water from a boat in middle of ocean.

You go by team defense when Evan is playing. If you want to know how many points his man get's use basketball reference. He's always been garbage on defense. Clifford is blowing smoke up his butt.
