Kanter getting scapegoated somehow again?

Take a look at the Knicks shot selection then get back on this.

Not at all .

We have a team with a bunch of young players who other than maybe KP and Knox are varying degrees of role players, and even Knox's future ability to start on a good team is in question at the moment ( Im being patient with that just making a current observation). Our best healthy player is a journeyman who may or may not be pricing himself away from us this year. Our other veterans are for the most part in contract years meaning by definition they have to play selfish to get their next contract. Which does not help with development. Those veterans that aren't in contract years are huge albatrosses to us, contract wise and damn near impossible to get rid of. Oh and our franchise player has durability issues.

So yes, Kanter's nowhere close to being the main problem on this team, but he still needs to stfu, he knows what situation he came into and chose the money over stability.

It just worked out that way. They wouldn't be tanking if KP was healthy.

We also had the 2nd pick that year and dropped to 4! Could have drafted Okafor!!

Kanter needs to save his money and recognize that his next contract will resemble that of Brook Lopez's current deal.

These immobile centers have no future in the modern NBA so long as the rules stay as they are.

and if Phil Jackson knew what he was doing, we would've drafted Winslow. Thankfully, we lucked out alot that year.

Kanter blows on defense but the zone was the real issue

You won’t stop lol.

The zone just sucks. Man, the Knicks are just not good at it. They were playing better defense man to man with any lineup, even the no defense playing guys.

Kanter's self awareness might be worse than his defense. It's been 2 games and in the first his playing time was cut because he got ejected and last night they got destroyed. If he kept his mouth shut and just played I wouldn't be surprised to see him continue to get 20-25 min every night.

They should just release him at this point. It would be justified.

@MrOrange Actually, I believe the average NBA player's basketball life is to about 27 years old.

Kanter's ejection was not justified and was unadulterated BS. If that was Willis Reed doing that, everybody would be talking about how no one fcks with Willis, etc.

I think we can get something for him before the deadline if the Knicks are inclined to do so.

Yeah I'm not even saying it was justified. Just that there was more time left in the game when he got ejected where he could've been playing.

But the reason they are using/have to use the zone is because they're hiding Kanter.

At least Brook Lopez can make 3s. So he might be around.

Dudes rebounding numbers are impressive if you put little to no thought into them.

I agree with you on Zion, I don't think he's as sure fire of a great player as people think. There are tons of question marks. But RJ also has holes in his game as well. There may not be a great player to come out of this draft at all.
The problem is Zion has no physical peer in college. He will in the league. He doesn't have a great half court game nor does he create much for others.

And when people sag off him and let him shoot then what. I don't if the weakside blocks will translate, either.

RJ shoots too much. But he creates for himself and others. He can handle and finish on the break and he has a natural position as a big 2 or athletic 3.

His positional defence is good and he'll be fine in a system. He rebounds in college well for his spot.

It's just there isn't another player like Zion so he's exciting, but Barrett is much more NBA ready.

Kanter can hit them. He's just not being asked to do that. It would take shots away from Tammy. :)

By the way, Dante Exum looked pretty, pretty, pretty good last night. Looks like Utah's patience is finally paying off.

Not such a team player there Kanty.

Kanter needs to be waived by the All Star break and allowed to sign with a contender. the minutes given to him are being wasted.

I can't think of a team that has anyone that's also expiring that they will trade for him along with a 2nd rounder so buyout is the only option.

They don’t have to only look for an expiring contract coming back.

They could get a pick and/or prospect back by taking on a bad deal. Most fans don’t have the patience for that approach though so I doubt they do it.
