I'm not exactly a DSJ fan but he fits much better in New York (particularly for the fans who prefer the glitter) as opposed to Frank who'd have Luca to take the pressure off if in Dallas. I'd hate to see Frank leave but it not only makes sense.. it rights a wrong from the draft

That defense was legit. If we get Zion, I’d love to trade for him.

DSJ is a SG. We have 3 SG in the roster plus Frank.

Jamal Crawford hits game winners, but it doesn't wash up his defensive weaknesses or inefficiency. There are times when Enes Kanter gets a 30-20 game when he plays a scrub, but it doesn't wash over his weaknesses when a real team singles him out on defense. Hell, there are even times when Andrew Wiggins wakes up and actually plays basketball for once. Sucks. Hell, even Carmelo Anthony had a nice game vs Brooklyn this year, but he's done. Vince Carter still can dunk on someone once in a while. It doesn't mean he's gonna be doing that all the time.

Try not to extrapolate from one instance. DSJ has great highs. And he has great lows (which I don't reference that much, cause I just need to point at his season). If you look at his overall body of work and his fit with Luka and what he has done so far this season, I'm not surprised the Mavericks put out feelers for him. If he does this consistently, my tune will change. Until then, the jury's out on him. Personally, I don't foresee a good verdict in the future, though.

DSJ sucks. Stop that. The biggest wrong from this draft was missing on Mitchell.

Happy for the kid. Some young guys have to go through growing pains. Glad DAL played the long game with him so far. How many game winners is this for him now?

Frank and/or Dot will great between him and Skywalker.

Lee Frank Dot for Wes pick. I joked around about it with JMac and he almost blocked me for it

He is really bad because he has no awareness. You can even notice when he starts thinking about what he's doing, it almost always ends up in a turnover. He has a deadly first step and no clue how to utilize it, so every basket he makes is way more difficult than it should've been, that last layup included.

His role on offense should be limited to driving the second he gets the ball at the 3pt line and shooting when open.

DSJ + Matthews for Frank + Lee/Hardaway.

I think I'd be a more comfortable situation for both DSJ and Frank.

Frank would be relieved of the pressure with the spotlight on Doncic.

DSJ could start playing to his strengths instead of trying to fit in with someone else as the alpha dog in the backcourt. He's not a bad kid, you can see that he really tries to complement Doncic, he just doesn't have the smarts to do it.

Just what the Knicks need, another basketball player who lacks awareness.

Pretty sure that means it will happen. Anyway, it's trading one non self aware guy (THJr) for a younger non self aware guy (DSJr), so I'm for it. Plus dealing Frank would mean no more hearing about him continuously, other than in the "Around the NBA" topic, which would be a big improvement.

DJS might be our Conley, but I would still like to have our T.Allen around... maybe Carlisle would be OK taking Mudiay instad of Frank but he has said a couple of times that he would love to coach Frank

A relief for the Knicks players and fans.

Until we start pouring into pro and anti DSJ camps. Might be worse than the Frank arguments.

Anyway, it seems imminent.

Actually, I have a different thought. I bet if the Knicks trade with the Mavs (haven't checked if contracts work) it would be CLee and Frank for Matthews + DSJr. This assumes the Mavs want to do a "addition by subtraction" trade feeling that DSJr and Donic don't mix.

CLee is a "Play within the system, knock down open jumpers reliably" guy. Donic is the focal point of the Mavs offense. He'll be creating etc. Maybe they want the guy who can consistently knock down open shots after Donic finds them. Tammy is a ball in his hands, streaky scorer. Basically like bringing over less athletic, older, DSJr onto your team.

Not sure why the Mavs would want Tim, unless their coach is under the mistaken impression they can reign in his game. I think only the most alpha coaches can do it. Bud did, most coaches (Fizzle) can't.

Personally, I'd enjoy reading about Mudiay vs DSJr arguments, since they seem like similar players when you get into the loose pros and cons. The hair splitting in the arguments would be a thing of beauty.

That deal is short so I included Dotson to balance the deal. Knicks would be gaining cap space and arguably the better prospect based on popular opinion.

There’s probably even a chance we re-sign Wes in a win now move next summer.

Only teams taking THJ is if they send a far worse contract back. Over the summer I said THJ / LFT on MEM would make sense, where we would eat Parsons for 2 years and get a pick back. I still think we could do that deal and the idea was brought up Duncd On not too long ago. They’d probably love him there.
