Schroders defense is going to be a huge problem come playoff time.

I really like Nader. But if Schroder isnt going to pass the ball he not going to help.
Also I think Nader is better with the ball than off the ball.

Schorder misses two FTs, we get the offensive rebound, Russ takes an 18-footer, and promptly airballs it.

This is where I’m going to say that Russ needs to give up his shots to Schroder so Schroder can get into rhythm. I honestly feel bad for Schroder. He should be getting more scoring opportunities than he has been.

I am at the point that I’d rather have a Schroder FGA than a Westbrook FGA 9 times out of 10.

schroder is even worse than russ.

When’s the last time you looked at their shooting percentages?

- schroder: 50.1 TS%

- russ: 48.3 TS%

Schroder is almost 2 percentage points better than Westbrook in this regard.

And if you compare their career TS%, well it’s clear who has had the better supporting casts...

Alas, Schroder needs to be traded because his skillset is quite redundant to Westbrook’s and Westbrook is just going to chuck the ball 20 times and not even give Schroder a chance to build rhythm... It’s clear this going to keep happening, so yeah, I’m all on board the trade Schroder train. We need a 3&D 1/2 that we can put alongside Westbrook. Schroder is a terrible fit for the way Westbrook plays... and it’s a damn shame that Westbrook is holding him and the team back in this regard.

It’s almost like Westbrook said to himself that he shouldn’t have to change his game; Schroder should. And I really hope that isn’t the case because that is not being a good leader.

3/20....
1/7....

Why are we talking about Schroder’s passing being a problem. Westbrook went 3/20 tonight. He’s the one that should have been doing more passing... there’s no cap on how much passing he can do and there’s no cap on assists...

Weird question... but does anyone else think Adams is throwing some shade at Westbrook with the “I need space” lunchbox and his comments about needing motivation from a raucous and unfriendly crowd to play harder?

Good win. What a bunch of arrogant dicks on the other side. I don't know what was worse: The ESPN crew (every pass by a Laker was a "spectacular" pass; in the 1st half Ingram is called a "big time scorer", in the 4th quarter Jackson is saying "who's going to score" with Ingram on the floor), the "fans" or the refs.

Vintage Roberson cut here, and a really nice 'veteran play' from a 2nd year guy.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Oh and I think this deserves a mention: I'm glad Donovan decided to go with Ferguson down the stretch. Schröder should not get a guarantee to close out games regardless of the matchup.

...schroder went for .76 pps and Westbrook .7. maybe they both should've passed more?

Also, the bench got up 29 total shots and Schroder shot 13 of them.

Man, imagine this team with Westbrook of just a year ago (or any other year for that matter). They are almost at the top of the West even with Russ monstruosly bad season...

Also, Noel is just a fantastic defender. Really pleased with him.

Since 12/1, the bench with Schröder as its sole leader has a 99.5 ORtG per pbpstats.com. Schröder has a 45.5 USG% and a 48.3 TS%. I wonder the TS% will catch up to his USG% soon.

I really wish russ would chill on the rock the baby, air guitar or screaming how fast is he is against the kings, it’s kind of embarrassing.

I can’t help but wonder that as well. As much as I love Schroder, both he and his game is not built for this Westbrook-esque one-man-show. He’s just not. Flip Schroder with Van Vleet, Augustin, Tyler Johnson, or Rozier... and I’m 99.9% things aren’t better. .1% for miracles and outliers.

The fact is the role Schroder is playing does not fit Schroder’s game whatsoever. He’s playing a lot of off-ball to Russ and he’s playing with 2U players that do not fit his strengths.

Looking at this shooting #s last year (in some areas) to those same shooting #s in the same areas this year, the difference is huge and not in a good way. If anyone wants to know what I’m talking about (and I may post them later), just compare his shot-tracking data from last year to this year’s. It’s virtually night and day for Schroder.

Also, just another tid bit. It’s one thing to criticize Russ for not passing to George or Grant who have been awesome this year. It’s another thing to criticize Schroder for not passing to Abdel “I’m suddenly Ray Allen” Nader and Patrick “I don’t know where my shot went” Patterson...

I know I said I was on the trade Schroder train earlier but I don’t know. It depends on the return. If I were Presti I would look to explore what upgrading from Diallo/Patterson to consistent shooting on both corners would look like + a 4th creator/scorer.

Something like:

Schroder—X—Nader—X—Noel

Ferrell—Schroder—Nader—Bjelica—Noel for example...

Cool. So maybe he should stop doing it. How about that?

Interesting question, does Billy want him doing this?

Bro, I get it. I can’t lay out everything I’m seeing in words here, but I understand what you guys are saying about Schroder passing the ball more... but there’s a really, really good reason we are using Schroder to attack defenses and provide scoring on the 2U and not just letting the Diallos and Naders and Pattersons of the world jack up shots...

Now I will say that I hope Schroder and Nader grow more comfortable playing with each other and we can see what that looks like as I think Nader has a chance (however slight) to be better than Abrines, but you can’t expect Nader and Schroder to instantly have chemistry the same way you can’t expect Russ and PG to instantly have chemistry in that way. These things take time, man.

I think Abrines is sitting out for rest due to some illness he has and we are showcasing our fringe assets right now so Presti can make a good decision at the deadline on how to best bolster the 2U and maybe the SL as well... a trade is coming...
