The question is, when Porter gets back, will it be the old Porter of last season, or will it be the guy from earlier this season who clearly isn't the same player.

You make a good point though. In a few days, we'll have the team we've been wanting to see for a while: no Wall, no Morris, no Rivers, and lots of Bryant and Sato to play alongside Beal, Porter, Ariza and Green.

The Otto we saw last night was definitely not ready to play near 100%, and I gotta question if they brought him back too soon.

Yep - after watching it, I thought they should have waited another week or two... I cringed for him each time he was bumped.

"no Wall", I know you generally hate John Wall but I don't think the consensus is that "we can't wait for the day John stops playing ball and goes away." There is a difference between "we should trade him because hes overpaid" and "Hes a Morris/Rivers that we just want to go away"

I think a healthy John Wall is still a net positive.

I really don’t think this years wall was a net positive, due to his negative effect on team chemistry and the effort level. His advanced numbers were just putrid. When Beal speaks about Thomas Bryant’s energy having a positive effect, it’s the exact opposite with Wall. People watch the guy jack up a fade-away 18 footers with 20 in the SC and have no interest in running back on defense after the miss. They see him stand still on defense and watch his team play 4 on 5 and lose interest on that end as well. I know I’m the wall hater, but I think he’s become an absolute cancer for this team. They play significantly harder without him on the court and Brooks is literally too scared to call him out for anything. In terms of production, Satoransky has been a much better player than Wall this year. You’d rather see him play those big minutes at this point anyways.

Yep, my only final request would be to do away with Randle and just play TBJR all of those minutes at the backup guard spots. I don’t care if he makes mistakes, he’s already good enough to be a positive by making the right play and defending and rebounding. Let him develop his game and run the show with the 2nd unit. He’s a good player.

But yeah, I’ve been waiting to see this team. We got to see it a little bit last year but Brooks was using that horrendous no point guard lineup still and Morris was still disgracing basketball. We also didn’t have the monster that is Thomas Bryant. Dekker has been playing out of his mind, Ariza and Green have been solid role players. Dwight could be a monster playing alongside Satoransky and Beal. We even made the massive change of Otto at PF now. The most exciting part is Otto and Beal being option A and option B.

I don't hate John Wall. I really dislike the player John Wall has been this season and last season. I recognize that much of the issue is due to injury. But whatever the reason, the John Wall we've seen this year and much of last year (excluding the playoffs) has not helped the team win basketball games and it's very possible that the example he set with his defensive laziness and inattention is corrosive to the team as a whole.

I hope John gets fully healthy and plays like the guy we saw 2 years ago. That guy was really good (though still lousy when off the ball on offense).

Porter certainly looked rusty although he did have a nice spurt in the 3rd quarter where he had 7 points. Overall 9 points, 2 assists, 1 turnover, and 1 rebound in 13 minutes is an OK start off an injury but he probably needs to play a bit better on the boards.
