I have this one down as a scheduled loss, Portland have always been a terrible match up for us.

What the hell is Dame grabbing in the OP?

Tough but winnable game. Portland lost some bench potency, but Nurkic is always a handful. If SA can contain him and Russ plays a decent game it should be enough considering both Dame and CJ never play well at the same time this year.

Just once I would like to play a game vs Portland where they don't get every 50/50 ball, have multiple guys nobody has ever heard of have the game of their lives and get the favorable end of the whistle on top of that. Maybe this will be the one. Let's hope so.

Would be really surprised if we win this game (bad match up and always tough to play there)

If George is drawing Aminu, we need to get Grant the ball and see what he can do v. Harkless.

Hopefully Westbrook takes some pride in this game and shoots at least a respectable 40%.

Let’s keep finding Ferguson cutting to the basket v. baby McCollum.

We might see some 3 guard lineups from both sides tonight. Portland is probably going to take a page from Dallas’ book and try that out again. Portland has better guards than Dallas.

This is going to be an interesting one, fellas.

I suspect Portland is going to try and force Westbrook to beat them and shut everything else down.

With Fegurson more than likely out and Abrines MIA hopefully we will see more of Nader and Maybe even Deonte Grantham
I think as long as Pg can stay out of foul trouble we got this one in the bag.

What makes you think that? We're terrible on the road and Port has our number. Then you lose one of our best wing defenders and it doesn't look good to be honest.

Our defense should slow them down enough to get the win.
Defensive matchups.

Lillard / Westbrook, McCollum / Pg, Nader/Harkless, Grant / Aminu, Adams / Nurkic

Plus we got the size advantage I see Adama and grant having a good game Westbrook will take advantage of his size mismatch. Pg going to do his thing .I just thinks it a Win for okc.

Did I miss something? Last reported Ferg was playing and hasn't missed anything.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Does anyone have a good explanation for why Nurkic owns Adams so badly?

He's Adams' kryptonite. Nurkic with 12 point sin the 1st quarter on 6/7 shooting, Adams with 0 points on 0/2 shooting.

Happens evvvvery time they play. Its so weird. Adams can stop superstars at times but has never been able to stop Nurkic

And even when Adams plays phenomenal defense on him, Nurkic backs him down from about 12-feet out, turns into Hakeem with a series of nifty moves, and finishes over the top of Adams.

This is unreal.

Trade Schroder at halftime. I’m done. Lazy defense. Poor shot selection...

I knew it seemed like Portland always beat us since KD departed, but I didn't realize we were a combined 1-7 against them the previous two seasons. After tonight we'll be 1-8 against the Blazers since KD left.

russ' contract might get ugly sooner than anyone could have thought. it's really astounding how teams defend him now. 34.4% eFG on jump shots this year + career low FTr? it's hard to see how it could get much worse but there's five more years to go.

Our defensive rotations have been really slow and lazy tonight.
