Clint Capela’s game

Post#1 » by Blue_and_Whte » Fri Jan 4, 2019 3:13 pm

I haven’t watched many Rockets games. Can I get some opinions on Clint’s game? Is he heavily dependent on Hardens presences on the court offensively or does he have some scoring chops?,

Thanks

Let's just say that he should thank Harden for his new contract this year! I bet he takes Harden out to lunch and dinner everytime.

He is the prototypical center for the modern NBA.

In his current role he is pretty reliant on the playmaking of Houston's elite backcourt but to his credit he's a relentless rim-runner and athletic finisher with pretty good hands around the basket.
He is also a solid screen setter and an intuitive roll man.

Defensively he's a capable rim protector and is able to switch out on wings occasionally and not get totally embarrassed.
And he has shown he can be a tenacious rebounder when motivated.

He has his limitations but his apparent willingness to learn and the way he has improved every year he has been in the league make it a challenge to gauge just what his ceiling may be.

Agreed with the great post above. He's ideal because he's a great off-ball player who doesn't demand touches. His court awareness is good and seems to be at the right place most of the time.

Thanks for the responses. Reason I asked is because someone commented on Bambas trajectory being Clint Capela. Based on your responses I'd have to disagree. Hes very much a pick and pop player, likes to shoot the three a lot. Defensively hes been fairly disappointing up until recently. Well see. Any way. Thanks
