That was way too close, but after all we got that L. I just don't understand why Brown isn't part of the rotation, no point rolling out with just 9 dudes.

Can you guys give me a run down on Brown? How he looked so far and whether he will get more pt as the season goes on? Do you guys think Ariza will be moved for sure?

Why is Porter coming off the bench for you guys?!

He does everything really well except shoot. He's a solid defender for a rookie, an above-average rebounder for his position, he passes and handles well enough to eventually play some minutes at point guard. He was a terrible shooter in summer league but the shot appears to have improved a bit over the course of the season but it's still not up to snuff for an NBA wing player.
If he played a ton of minutes, I think teams would eventually game plan to let him shoot and that might cause some problems. However, there's no reason he can't be playing 15 minutes a night off the bench right now. He does everything else so well.

He just came back from an injury. Also, with Morris also out, the bench doesn't really have any scorers and Porter can help with that.
I assume you are asking for fantasy reasons. I don't know exactly when Porter will be re-inserted into the starting lineup. It might be a while.

I'm asking for trade reasons. But I'm not going to post a proposal here because you'd think I'd just wanted what's worst for you

I wish I thought it was that logical. Ariza went 6-19 vs. the Heat. Beal went 10-25. But Brown still sat.
At forward, we are starting a veteran minimum player & a guy in his 15th season who has a 1000 NBA games on his clock -- & asking him to play 42 minutes!
Jeff Green is a veteran minimum player, because he isn't good enough to be anything other than a veteran minimum player. That's the only reason any player is available at the veteran minimum level. Period. It would be great if fans would simply accept that.
Trevor Ariza is not a good NBA player at this point in his career.
It couldn't matter less whether teams would let Troy Brown shoot. If he can't hit wide open shots at a % above 36% (Beal + Ariza vs. Miami), we'd better know that.
In any case, we lost the game. Not to mention that we are 5-10 in our last 15 games. & that 2 of the 5 wins were over the Hawks, & 1 was over the Suns.
What possible negative impact can playing Troy Brown have on our record?

We have a trade thread here. Post your proposal there. FWIW, there seems to be a belief that the Wizards are desperate to dump Porter to create cap room. That is not the case. The team will either pay the tax, or they will dump Ariza and/or Morris for smaller contracts to get out from the tax. Trading Porter is not necessary. He could plausibly be traded, but it will be for talent, not cap relief.

It's expected that anyone who posts a trade in any forum will be focused on benefit to his team. Just be conscious of that impulse in yourself.
Anyway, we'll respond -- of course! & be focused on benefit to our team...

They don’t even play him. We have no clue

Why is Devin Robinson not playing for the wizards? He’s putting up monster numbers in the G league. Always scoring efficiently, he’s rebounding now, his advanced numbers are all up across the board. He looks like that prototypical switch everything PF that can run the floor like a wing .

80sballboy wrote:Looks like a good tank loss. Thought they played well for a Wiz road game. Ariza played 42 minutes. That's way too much but 21 points. Value going up. Otto 0-5 from 3pt in 21 minutes. Sato decent game with 8pts 3 assists but missed an open 3 late and then traveled hesitating on an open 3. Beal with 33 and was clutch with a 3 to cut lead to 1.
yeah, I thought Sato didn't play well at all (way to tentative and not clutch at all). I would definitely have used some of his minutes and some of Randall's minutes on Brown (who could probably have slowed Winslow down big time and reduced the rebounding deficit.

Porter, Wall and Manhinmi for Wbrook, P George and Adams hell we might even throw in a protected 1st round pick.
