Culver is legit, he’s climbing on my boards. I’m releasing some YouTube videos on him and dissecting his game.

I've heard from some very reliable sources (the internet) that Culver reportedly grew 2 inches last summer and is now around 6'8".

If that measures out, he'd be less Brandon Roy and more Paul George.

He fits our needs perfectly, and we legitimately have 2 shots at him this summer.

I think there's a good chance we go hard for the kid...possibly even trading back for him?

He’s one of those super under the radar guys that went to a super small basketball school. How many Texas tech players have come to the NBA? From that standpoint, it’s very Scottie Pippenish with Central Arkansas. He might fall in the range between our own pick and the Mavs pick so yes traded back is clearly an option.

4. Atlanta Hawks – Nassir Little (F, North Carolina)

I’m still buying Little. Like Reddish, he’s had a weird freshman season, part of that stems from North Carolina having two established players in the frontcourt that are taking reps away. From a college basketball perspective, that actually makes some sense, but Little isn’t being allowed to showcase his full range of talent. In the grand scheme, he’s still been pretty good (particularly on a per-possession basis) but the lack of exposure seems to be dampening his draft stock in some circles. That’s not the case for me.


10. Atlanta Hawks (via Dallas) – Jarrett Culver (G/F, Texas Tech)

Culver is a much safer prospect than Bol. That much is certain. He’s not a ridiculous athlete but, aside from that, there aren’t many flaws with the sophomore and there are even rumblings that he is still growing physically. Even at his current size, he brings a fun combination of present-day skill and translatable upside, with Culver rising a ton since the season began.

I’m a little late to the Bol Bol news but this foot injury is enough for me to take him off my board with our pick or the Mavs pick. Don’t want him unless he plummets to the second round (won’t happen).

Skinny big men plus foot injuries = no-go. I also don’t think that Culver will end up being there with the Mavs pick. If we want him it’ll have to be with ours imo (maybe a trade back like Jamaal said).

Going to watch this kid live on the 9th vs Arizona. He’s lightweight and raw right now but he’s got a sense of smoothness to his game and he’s got a good frame. Gotta see him live to get a better feel. He might be on the Mavs pick radar for us as well.

A toolsy wing player with a clean-looking jumper, Okpala continues to trend upward, and justifiably so—he’s rebounded from an iffy freshman season, and it doesn’t appear he’ll have to hang around college much longer. He’s very slender and has to continue filling out, but has done a lot of growing dating back to high school and has retained some of his point guard skills, including strong vision as a passer. Okpala’s shooting and offensive feel bode well, and coupled with his length and ability to switch screens on the other end, there’s plenty of untapped upside here. After beginning the season as more of a curiosity, he’s become a strong bet for the first round.

I haven't watched much college ball outside of game highlights, so I ask this question from a place of ignorance: Why is he a 5 on defense and not a 4?

So I stopped by the candy shop and did some small forward or as kg prefers to call it...WANG shopping.

My 4 fav flavors (in particular order)


1. Cam Reddish -New age Tmac. Super smooth..he can do it all, superstar potential. Would take a lot to have a chance to draft him and trade back again like Doncic, I don’t see Travis doing that twice, we land at 3 or 4 and have a chance to get him I think we just get him.

2. Jarrett Culver -Grant Hill with a mix of Sean Elliott from outside, Grant wasn’t a good outside shooter early on...this kid is. He seems to be the best fit with our team.

3. Keldon Johnson -Caron Butler, bigger Randy Foye and a potential Westbrook lite from the sf position..if Schlenk got his Nash in Trae and Klay in Huerter, this is his Draymond Green (from a wing perspective but nevertheless the enforcer).

4. Romeo Langford -Paul Pierce..He has that label where he’s been Bagley famous for years lol..seriously I remember hearing this kid’s name when he was in jr. high. Baller. He understands the game and plays at his pace. He has a smooth stroke and gets to the bucket and draws contact..he’s got that midrange sweet touch as well.


Guys I don’t like as much but will be in that wing category..these are my licorice, candy corns, necco wafers and bit o honey candy.

1. Nassir Little -Josh Howard. He’s a two way dude and a gym rat but I’m not loving the stroke from 3, if ur a wing ur gonna need a 3.

2. Kevin Porter Jr. - Winslow with better upside. I don’t like how the ball seems to be in his hand for a ton of the time. We aren’t looking for this with our system.

3. Deandre Hunter- Poor man’s Jimmy Butler. He’s got the physicality but seems limited and not as fluid in the body movements as the other prospects.

Oh, and let me be clear, I’m still taking Zion #1 if we happen to land it.
