No one said Melky is a HOF....
But you cant go wrong with him in center field for the next 10 yrs

.315 15 HR 80 RBI 20 SB, excellent defense, gold glove potential...

I'll take that with our other bats

I was talking about Ellsbury.

Aside from an otherworldy 122 ABs in AAA last season (and his 2004 stint in Battle Creek), Cabrera hasn't put together a consistent enough showing to guarantee him hitting at that high of an average in the bigs. Not that batting average is important anyway; regardless, he'll probably be a player that flirts with .300 every season but with an OBP in the mid-.300s. Maybe something like .295/.350/.447. Which is pretty good.

Yankees win 14-8

Most of that is based on my contempt for some of the Sawx, so thats extremely biased.

No surprise there.

And if anyone picks Giambi over Ortiz.... you deserve to be shot in the face.

After tonight's domination, I'm convinced.

Joba Chamberlain or Hideki Okajima

Guilty as charged

EDIT: He has faced 15 batters, and not ONE has made contact with his slider yet. Not even for a foul ball. In his 4 innings of work he has 6 Ks, all of which were strikeouts swinging on his slider. When he struck out the side against Cleveland last night, the reaction of Trot Nixon and Kenny Lofton after they K'd was priceless. They basically had a look on their face that said ''How is it fair that you throw that pitch as hard as most guy's fastballs?"

When he struck out Nixon and Lofton last night, I couldn't help but ask myself: How is that pitch legal in the lower 48?

 After the game, Hughes said that he told Joba he can't do that, and that Joba has to throw his curve and change because it isn't fair to throw the slider.
