I hope Brower gets released and we never see Karstens ever again.

Kennedy should've been given the nod, if Matt DeSalvo and Tyler Clippard can have great first outings, I'm sure Kennedy can to...since he has better stuff and better control. Heck, Kei Igawa could've done better, at least he would've gone 6 innings and not force us to use 4 relievers. It's not that I'm angry that we lost (we weren't going to sweep the O's with the pitching matchups), but we pretty much conceded this game from the start.
Can we please DFA Brower too? Edwar or Britton need to get the callup.

We just gave this game away, with bedard pitching tomorrow... geez. I have this guy on my fantasy team, he is a damn beast!!

Karstens did a hell of a job at the end of last season and has been hurt all year, cut the guy some slack. Brower would not need to be DFA'd because he has options left, we could send him to AAA without any consequences. My guess is he's gone and we bring a fresh arm up.

So you are telling me it would've been too difficult of a decision to send down Brower and his 13.50 ERA?
It also doesn't matter what Karstens has done for us in the past. He is clearly not getting the job done right now for us, and something is wrong. Do we just keep pretending that everything if fine and keep sending him out there or should we do the right thing and send him back to the minors where he should go to work out mechanics or whatever his problem is. Aaron Small went 10-0 for us once, did that mean we owed it to him to keep him on the roster the next season? No, he started pitching awful, and we consequently designated him for assignment.

Karstens is different than Aaron Small, he is a 23 year old kid...not a 10 year journeyman minor league lifer. If we had brought up Igawa and he did bad would you have been calling for his head as well? Cut Karstens some slack, he showed last year that he has the ability to be a decent major league pitcher. Igawa on the other hand has proved that he loves living around the belt.
PacersRule07 wrote:Could it be that Karstens isn't that good, and it just took teams a couple of times before figuring out his less than extraordinary stuff? That seems logical. Even if it's just a mechanical issue, he shouldn't be on our MLB roster because he's clearly not right.
