A good management would use their cap space/trade exceptions to gather basketball assets like 2nd rounders/pick swaps.

Instead the Bulls use it to pay down their cap obligations above the salary floor (which is the bare minimum that teams have to pay NBA players each season).

Worth remembering that while the Bulls don't own their 2nd this year, they currently own other team's or the right to swap 2nd rounders through 2022 (Memphis 2x, 2019, 2020), New Orleans swap (2021) and Detroit swap (2022).

Wouldn't be surprised if they trade any of them, but they've accumulated them.

So a bunch of complaining for the nothing. Management has earned the skepticism, but this is not one of those.

You mean 'tanking done right' and risks paying off. They also drafted Michael Carter-Williams, Evan Turner, Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor before Embiid(who sat out nearly 2 seasons) and Simmons(who sat out a season) before it was deemed 'a rebuild done right'

I get this one is no big deal, but it's a trend from the FO/Ownership that has cost the team talent and more then likely will cost them talent for cash in the future.

Building in a tolerance for missed draft picks is indeed a rebuild done right.

You would be crying your ass off if we were as bad as Philly for as long as they were bad while whiffing on picks. We are just in year 2 with a bottom 3 team and you have already lost it. I think the Bulls are doing alright as far as the rebuild being terrible while also having some good young talent.

No, I wouldn't be because I understand what Philly did. And how our approach is far worse than Hinkie's.

If we were engaged in the Process, we'd have Luka Doncic and future picks in the coming years.

The definitely messed up last season, but have what have they done wrong this year? We are losing relying solely on mostly young high potential players and just traded away a vet that has made us worse.

I think the trade is two-fold: A. potentially make a bit of profit that doesn't touch the on-court product at all, and B. doing a solid to another team, so that maybe they'll return the favor when we need it... I see absolutely nothing wrong with the move.
