Same (I played maybe 5-10 hours), and I actually don't know why. It's basically the same as the first game, which is fine. Don't know why I didn't get into it.

Divinity Original Sin II (haven’t played it)

I played it 40-50 hours, but am SO far from finishing and don't think I'll revisit. The time I played was a blast, though. I just moved onto something else.

For me, it's a either Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (made me realize I hated those kind of Battle Royale games) or Fallout 4 (which wasn't fun and made me decide to become really reluctant to pre-order games before reviews came out).

For the Switch, I don't especially regret any purchase, but I never really got a lot out of Stardew Valley.

Disappointments:
ARMS, Call of Duty (several, foolishly), Dragon Age Inquisition, Titanfall

Just regret the money I spent, not indicative of the game):
The Binding of Isaac Afterbith + (fine game, but I shouldn’t have dropped $40 to get it on Switch.), Dark Souls III (haven’t played it), Deus Ex Mankind Divided (haven’t played it), Divinity Original Sin II (haven’t played it), Hearthstone (enjoy it, but waste of money), Stellaris (barely touched it), Valkyria Chronicles 4 (barely played it).

I bought Valkyria Chronicles 4 for 50% off or something over Christmas. Totally worth it.

Yeah, I bought both on sale for a total of $50 (Deus Ex for $17 and Divinity for $33). Both will be worthwhile when I play them (played the previous entries for both games), but right now it was a wasted $50 with almost no time invested. I could’ve waited and bought them later for cheaper when I actually had time for them.

I bought the physical copy at $60 shortly after launch. I’ve got 5 hours in it and I really like it, but I obviously could’ve waited as it’s not a high priority for me right now. When I do I’m sure it’ll go off the list, but currently it’s a waste of my money. Should’ve known better because Smash was coming out so soon and my girlfriend wanted to play coop Stardew Valley.

7 hours on Octopath today. 11 total in about 28 hours...not sure if I’m proud of that or not. It’s good.

I was wrong about Ninja Gaiden II. I went back and checked out the reviews, then started playing it. It absolutely whips ass. I don't know why I didn't play it when it came out.

Easily biggest disappointment in spending was on WoW: BFA. Kinda sad how far Blizz has fallen as far as producing reliably solid games. Aside from that, I'm a pretty patient gamer and only get games on deep discount, so I never really wind up disappointed.

I'd like to pick up a new one to pop in a different spot to my main stereo, I'm honing in on a couple but thought I'd check.

Heaps of cheapies out there that kinda do it, but I'm worried about arm weight killing my tunes, man.

What's your current stereo setup? I'm a bit puzzled why you'd want one with a built in pre-amp and bluetooth, since with the latter you are kind of negating one of the big reasons for listening to vinyl in the first place, which is to take advantage of different masterings and often higher dynamic range. Might as well just stream mp3s / FLACs if you are just going all digital. I haven't really heard of any turntables with bluetooth that are really any good, and streaming over bluetooth (regardless of format) isn't really optimal. But I suppose if you aren't really concerned with a pure analog chain, Audio Technica makes some decent tables, but not really sure about the Bluetooth one.

I have a half decent amp/speakers and a Rega Planar 1 turntable, which this new one would not be expected to be an upgrade over at all or replacing. I get what you mean about bluetooth messing with sound quality- it's primarily to be used in a particular spot with headphones (hence the built in pre-amp) that's not near the regular stereo but is a good spot to sit in the evening and read, and I'd just like the bluetooth on it as flexibility for my son to be able to use it in his room if he likes as well.

Civ 6 just destroyed my weekend. **** denouncements and war-mongering **** from other countries just ruining my fun. Goddammit, Gandhi, what did I ever do you to? And don't you act all whiney, Jadwinga, just because I snatched two of your cities from you. You declared war on me. It's not my fault that your army couldn't defend your territory. Talk ****, get hit.

BfA was worthless, I'm so mad at myself for falling into the trap and buying it. Played for maybe a week to get up a couple levels and then never touched it. The game is a shell of what I remember and 80% of the experience was playing with my friends and clan that have all since left.

You haven't played a Civ game until Gandhi declares war on you - it's gotta be a developers' joke at this point.

I persuaded him to ally with me after we made peace. But I've got my eye on Hojo Tokimune getting a little froggy to the South of me.

Just one more turn.

As per usual, I lag 6-12 months behind you guys due to my huge backlog and general cheapness, but I've been playing Monster Hunter World on PS4 and really digging it. First ever experience with the series.

Fair. If you ever decide to get into the PC side of things there's quite a few games like CIV which are total time dump.

I haven’t spent a lot of time researching and it seems you know your stuff, so do you k ow if there are good balance fixes out for Civ 6 which deemphasize the CPU’s constant desire for war? 5 had massive balance issues where you basically couldn’t get a science or culture victory because the computer would slaughter you. Firaxis and mods fixed it but now I’ve been hesitant to jump to 6 because 5 plays so perfectly for my taste.

It’s been like 2 years so I’m sure it’s taken care of, but just curious.

I'm definitely planning to build a gaming PC sometime down the road. I almost pulled the trigger last year before some unexpected financial commitments stole my thunder. Besides, there's only so much time and money I can dump into gaming at any one point, lol.

If you plan on building one and want a really good price on a moderate GPU let me know. I have an AMD Radeon 580 8GB, 580 4GB, 570 4GB and a 1050Ti 4GB that I'd be willing to ship ya.
