My wife and I had sobelmans opening night and thought they tasted fine.

This was before the game, so maybe they were just freshly made?

Do they have good burgers at Miller Park? I usually only get brats when I go.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Bombers is pretty much like Sobelmans at the FF. Made in advance so not very good. Personally I much prefer Bombers to Solbelmans in the "real world" but in the sports world I'd pass on both.

That's probably true.

A refreshing value alternative to the typical burgers, brats, chicken and pizza.

Now a “Mac Shack” sounds like my kind of place. Forget mediocre burgers and morally questionable chicken.

If you're planning on a Burger for Brewer's game, you're doing it wrong if you're not parking at Oscar's on Pierce, grabbing a bite, and taking the shuttle.

I agree that the burger is super average. My wife had the Gold Rush basket yesterday she likes the chicken and the slaw, but the fries were terrible. I had the brisket sandwich from the BBQ place which was good and I've had the pizza which was good.

I ended up getting the Gold Rush 3 piece chicken dinner. It was delicious. The fries I had were great... I am a big fan of the crinkle cut. What was wrong the fries your wife got?

Overall the new arena is spectacular. Such a better NBA experience than the BC.

I actually disagree here and found the Bombers Bomber’s way better. The hot dog was also to die for at MP

The original BC jumbo hot dog 10-15 years ago was to die for. Then they started serving regular Oscar Meyer sized hot dogs, calling them jumbos and charging $5 and all the magic was lost.

Nothing at MP is worth the price. Their tubed meat program is too inconsistent to bother with. Any sausage off any grill in the parking lot is much better than anything they serve inside.

BTW, I may have gotten the name wrong - it may have been "Nacho Mac" or "Taco Mac". The 6-dollar price & description were correct, though.

Personally, I think you are much better off eating somewhere before the game--plenty of good places within walking distance. My favorites are Jackson's (for the wings), Rumpus Room (for 2-4-1 Wisconsin beers before 6 p.m.) and Glass + Griddle (the burger was pretty tasty, the drink specials were good and they have a shuttle).

I tried the Chopped Beef sandwich (I don't believe they actually have a brisket sandwich) from Iron Grate and it was hot garbage. I have heard similar negative things about all of the other Levy-run "local" arena spots (i.e. Laughing Taco, Gold Rush, etc.). If I was forced to eat there, I noticed they now have an El Rey tamale stand or I'd get Chik-fil-a.

Very, very disappointed with how crummy the offerings are.

I don't think anyone is arguing about whether there are better/cheaper options outside the arena. But time constraints don't always allow for eating at those places. That's why we're discussing in arena food options.

A few notes from my experiences at fiserv:

Is it just me or are there twice as many women’s bathrooms then men’s? A few times I’ve even tried to get into the single stall “gender neutral” ones.

Speaking of bathrooms, why are there no TVs? If this was supposed to be state of the art couldn’t we have thrown in a few TVs in front of the urinals?

The lines. The lines for everything from drinks to food to bathroom are insane.

Food: expensive. Kind of annoying that if you want a specific item you might have to walk the entire arena. Quantity/value of the food is kind of weak. I got some pork tacos from laughing taco and they were meh (3-tacos and each taco only required 2-bites), although the “hot sauce” is really fricking hot! You’ve been warned! Chic filet is decent and the line actually moves fairly fast.

Drinks: I like the fact there are so many cocktail options. My cousin likes craft beer and at certain places they seemed to have a good selection.

In seat drinks/dining: up to row 8 in the lower bowl they have a person walking around taking orders. I ordered some food (I think the only thing they had were cheese pretzels at the opener) and it was awful. My seats however are row 11 so they aren’t actually supposed to serve me (they tell me this every time). If the servers are slow they will take my order which is cool.

The “beer button” was active for last Saturday’s game. I think you could only order coors and you could only order 2. We had 4 people so I had to order twice which was kind of annoying. Hopefully this improves as the season goes on.

Pregame fun: especially if you are going (or taking someone) the first time, make sure after you enter from the main entrance go up the right hand escalators. Take the elevator up to the 6th floor (unfortunately in the elevator all the levels are named something stupid like “ML”). There’s usually an elevator person in it that will guide you. Go up to the panorama club. They have a sweet bar and lounge area. They also have a heated patio where you can view the Milwaukee skyline. Grab a drink there to start your evening (no lines, lots of bartenders, full bar, decent beer selection). If I ever had to buy standing room only I’d probably hang out there.

Also take a walk around the lower bowl/100 level. There are some great spots for photos. They even have a wall with handprints of the players hands where you can place your hand and compare to an nba player sized hand.

Overall great experience. Prices for everything are high but that’s to be expected. Also remember that traditionally Milwaukee ticket prices have been amongst the lowest in the nba. I’d like to see if that has changed at all. My guess is it might be a slight bump but we would still be in the bottom 20%.

The city has been asking the team to help pay for a streetcar extension to the Forum. Bucks declining.

Alderman Robert Bauman said he has had informal talks with representatives from the Milwaukee Bucks regarding them helping to pay for the expansion, but he said so far all he has received is “a polite decline.” Ald. Bauman, who is a vocal advocate for the streetcar, said he is hopeful that the streetcar will at least get to Wisconsin Avenue soon, adding that they will go as far as they can with the funds they have.

You would think that of they're confident the DNC will be awarded to MKE, the trolly would be almost a must to get to Fiserv
