I know it's probably way over the top thinking and I am not a scientist so all this pulsing stuff is probably legit.

But sorry I feel like the UFC got strict testing because they wanted to clean their image and get a good selling price (which they did). I feel like since that was accomplished, now it's all about making that money. Jon Jones makes that money.

So ya it really wouldn't surprise me if they're going to do whatever they can to keep Jon eligible to fight. Wouldn't be shocked if be a talk happened where basically they said, "Jon play ball with us, remain active and don't do anything over the top stupid. If you do that, we can sweep the small crap under the rug".

232 is rumored to be around 900k ppv buys. Jones is a cash cow for them.

Being a scumbag makes him an even larger draw. So many people can't wait to see him lose.

Yea. Dana said in the leadup to the last PPV that all the drama was helping business.

This is strong point. The Fertitas moved to a really disciplined sort of sport - uniforms, testing, the performance institute, etc. That was in the financial interest of the moment. It made it plausible the UFC could be a mainstream sport. But now, under the burden of all that debt, it's the financial interest to get as much cash as quick as possible.

Man, Anthony Smith is mediocre. Not only did he get KOd less than 12 months ago, I'm pretty sure he got KOd in at least two other fights in 2018 but somehow zombie'd his way to comebacks. But he is among the least remarkable, least special title contenders ever. JJ will have the easiest win of his career.

Don't hype that card too much either. Woodley-Usman and JJ-Smith are crappy fights. Usman is very poor at striking, where Woodley is super effective. Is Usman really going to out-pressure Woodley without eating a right hand? These are not looking to be competitive fights.

Colby's destruction of RDA was awesome. Him against Woodley would be one of the most anticipated of 2018. I am surprised they are letting that slide. It appears they are trying to make a point about Colby not playing ball in September.

The whole USADA thing was always a thing to legitimize the image of MMA for the UFC, in order for it to be sold for a high price to me. Along with banning non-official sponsors during fight week and the uniforms (which actually don't look too out of place now), it was all just to clean up the image.

100%

I'm hoping the whispers of a union happen soon. These guys will all end up with CTE down the road and have no protection whatsoever, and the guys who are just the marketers and make billions are just laughing their way to the bank.

It's disgusting.

I wish the “official uniform” **** would go away. Colorful and unique fighting attire was way better.

Also regarding that Jones card...read social media and MMA forums regarding Usman/Woodley. The topic is all about Colby getting screwed.

Only the UFC could make Colby **** Covington into a sympathetic figure lol.

So excited about Cain coming back. I'm worried he may not be himself but DC is confident he's the same guy, so he should destroy Francis IMO if it's the same guy.

DC will fight Lesnar, vacate, Cain vs. Stipe.

One can hope. The two best HW's of all time.

Lesnar will never fight in the ufc again in my opinion.
He is the king of leverage and used the ufc to get an extra mill out of the wwe.
He’s a millionaire with a net worth of around 25 million and is 41 years old and can’t use steroids anymore (maybe). I don’t think he wants to fight anymore.

My guess is Stipe vs DC 2 is next for DC

Watched this fight again last night. Not how I remember it at all. As two of the judges called it, it was only a 48-47. Colby got hit clean many times, there were huge holes in his defensive boxing, and he also got taken down twice and reversed a couple times (including at least one beautiful sweep by RDA). And there were moments where RDA was putting it on him (Colby looking at the clock to see when the 4th would end).

I guess it was impressive because he 48-47d a pressure fighter with pressure. But that was nowhere near a showcase of someone who should be taking on Woodley.

Match up-wise: Colby can't finish Tyron. Is he expecting to push Tyron to a UD for 5 rounds without getting clipped or GnP'd to a TKO? Not a chance.

I don't really see the point in this Ngannou fight. I think Cain/JDS would make more sense. And then if Cain wins, have him fight Bigfoot for a title eliminator.

I see what you did there.

I'm not sure why you did it, but I see it.

I don't understand why Rose is good. I saw how she dismantled JJ but I still don't understand what about her particular skill set that makes her so good

She's fast, like Machida her blitzes are unpredictable, she can drop her level quickly for a td if need be, transitions quickly positionally on the ground, and has a functional bottom game. A lot of ways for her to win, and tough for an opponent to get a major advantage on her, bar clocking her on a blitz or capitalizing on her aggression leading her to being in a precarious position.
