Hope we're picking up a bunch of the money and getting something decent.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

That's a spicy amount of money.

I'm just shocked a Toronto reporter broke this news.

Brito's profile - 23 on MLB's top 30 Dodger prospects

http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2018?list=la

Latin bonus baby, another SS

Scouting grades: Hit: 40 | Power: 40 | Run: 55 | Arm: 60 | Field: 60 | Overall: 45

One of the best defenders in the 2015-16 international class, Brito landed a $2 million bonus to sign out of the Dominican Republic. He spent his first pro season in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League before making his U.S. debut in 2017. That ended in early August when a runner slid into him on an attempted double play and broke his left leg.

While Brito still needs time to develop more consistency, he has Gold Glove upside at shortstop. He covers plenty of ground at shortstop thanks to his smooth actions, quick first step and keen instincts, and his soft hands and strong arm add to his playmaking ability. His tools will play anywhere in the infield and he saw time at second and third base last year.

Brito isn't nearly as advanced offensively as he is defensively. He's a switch-hitter with promising bat speed and solid speed but hit just .232/.324/.362 in his first two pro seasons. He showed some patience in his debut but was overly aggressive last season and struck out in 33 percent of his plate appearances.

Sopko was the Dodgers round 7 pick in 2015, unrated by MLBpipeline

Hit pretty well this year, except for the strike outs. And supposedly has gold glove upside at short.

Ah well, wasn't expecting much in a return for Martin. More of a move to clean house than anything.

Hopefully Jansen can stick as the number 1.

Didn't expect Martin to be gone this early. But. I'm happy the Jays are able to move forward and focus on the future. Little subtle moves like this now, will pay off in the long run.

At this rate, our budget will be larger for players that are not on this team than the ones who are.

You can pretty much say that about last season, too. Just substitute "not on the field" for "not on the team".

Definitely a year or two late on all this, they should've definitely torn it down before last season instead of foolishly trying to make a run, but at least they're doing it now.
