With Dunn, Lavine, TBD, AD, WCJ you don't need to lure a #1 option SF to contend, you could get by with a solid 3-D guy (i.e. Ariza), which is gettable in FA, IMO. But that said, we'd become attractive to FA's to be that final piece too.

Well while we’re dreaming... ;)

Lauri, Jabari, Dunn, 1st (unprotected) for Davis, Moore

Resign Bobby to $55/4
Sign Kawhi to max
Sign D. Rose to $40/3

Rose Shaq Arci
Zach Moore Blakeney
Kawhi Hutch Val
Davis Portis
Carter Felicio

We don’t remotely enough cap space to do that. After that trade, and renouncing everyone except Bobby, there’s not even close to enough for a max. Like, we’re still like $12 million short of Kawhi’s max.

True. Omer, Felicio and Valentine clog a good $15m on the books. :uhoh:

Frankly that makes it impossible for any long shot dream contender scenario. Can't resign talent and add more than 1 super max FA.

Have to be done as separate deals but the numbers work

Sixers get a scorer/shooter to replace an unhappy Butler and the mistake of Fultz

Then Portis, Lopez & Hutchison to the Pelicans for Mirotic, Moore & Okafor

Brooks back to Memphis for Noah

Finally Parker and a 2nd round pick via Memphis to the Wolves for Deng, Gibson and Rose

:)

Markkanen/Noah
Carter Jr/Gibson
Mirotic/Deng
Butler/Moore
Dunn/Rose

Sign Boozer, Nocioni, Brewer, Lucas III and Mike James

Trade Okafor, Fultz, Selden, Blakeney, Arcidiacono, Harrison & Alkins for anything

Fire Boylen and re-hire Thibs

Championship!
this would make me so happy. so so so happy. i would ride or die with that team until the end.

too bad it will never ever ever happen.

I made one big mistake though, swap Mike James for Ben Gordon, what was I thinking

Could portis help any teams as a stretch 4/5? He's still cheap, so trading won't be an issue.

Definitely, he kind of reminds me of a younger, better Warriors Mo Speights. A guy who can come in at the 4/5 and just get you some buckets on the bench. Can play with starters as well because he can spot up in the corner and defend and rebound reasonably well.

Teams that could use him would be the true contenders (MIL, PHI, GS, OKC, HOU, LAL,) and more interesting the fringe teams (BKN, CHA, UTA). His RFA status is also an incentive for teams to take him on. Not sure he could close games but he could really help teams in quarters 2 and 3 of playoff games.

I do wonder what we can get for him. Most likely a late 1st rounder. Whether he is worth it depends on if the bulls intend on resigning him. But adding a stretch 4/5 is always helpful for a contender imo. Depending in the matchup, he could be very valuable

Portland is a good trade partner and they could use a stretch 4. Portis and Lopez for their first round pick, and Turner could work. Or even something bigger that also includes Jabari,Valentine and Leonard,Curry.
Bulls would get a pick and a much needed experienced player with Turner even though there’s another year left on his contract.

I don't think Portland needs RoLo, and while I wouldn't mind Turner in exchange for a 1st, he's sorta Hutch-like in terms of fit.

We really need a great 3pt shooter who is a good defender.

I think I would ask for a lotto protected first and a young player (bench/no minutes type player). The RFA status could be important for a contending team so they don't just lose him. I think that would have some value for a team.

Wonder if MIL would consider Portis/RoLo for any two of D.J. Wilson, Donte DiVincenzo, Pat Connaughton, Thon Maker or Christian Wood plus Snell?

Hi all, I'm coming from the OKC Thunder RealGM, and amid reports that we're searching for a backup big man, I felt that Bobby Portis would fit well as he can shoot/score and also rebound, both things our second unit struggles with. So I was wondering what you guys think would be a fair return for Portis, or if you cant really see a deal being done.

I'd do Bobby for Terrance Ferguson or Alex Abrines straight-up.

Do we have anything they'd want? Maybe RoLo, but $ don't line-up with anyone they'd want to dump.

What about trying to deal with ATL for Prince? I like the kid, but they could use a PF. We can help them unload some salary too next season:

Portis/Parker/Felicio/Valentine/Seldon for Prince/Plumlee/Bazemore

Maybe Bogdanovic/Randolph for Portis/Parker works for Sacto?

Isn't John Collins the PF for Atlanta?

Are there any free agents that you're interested in?

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20229609/nba-free-agent-2019-2020-team-team-lists

Two of my concerns are:

If, in the draft, the Bulls miss out on a top SF then the team might be thin at that position.

Also, I don't trust Dunn's health so a backup PG would be good to have.

I think he's a PF/C that is a good pairing with Portis.

I'd put max offers out to Harris and Middleton. I'd take a swing on Isaiah Thomas on a 1 year deal. Fall-back guys: Curry, Harkless, Ross, Burks, Ellington, Gay, Jeff Green.

I'm skeptical of Isaiah Thomas...I'd need to see him play again before offering him a deal.

Terrence Ross is interesting. He's having a solid year and could play SF for the Bulls.

I bet Harris and Middleton stay where they are, but it doesn't hurt to try.

None of these guys move the needle. Bad Max contracts are the most destructive thing a team can do. Better off taking bad paper with assets.
