On the bright side, Shelley played well...and Edwar shined out of the bullpen.

I like our chances with Pettite and Clemens going in game 2 and 3. We might
win game 1 but not very likely with the Moose pitching against Verlander.

Everybody who has a few bad outings in a row to you is done.

And the career stats do not back up your claim that Mo sucks in April and May. He has a few rough outings in April, then from May to July he is unhittable. August he hits a rough spot and then September and October he is unhittable again. It happens every year, and it gets pretty tiring that there is the same reaction year after year.

Mo has the been the definition of consistency for his entire career. He is having a subpar year by his standards, but you know what? I'll take him over any other closer in baseball. Today notwinstanding, I think he's ran into a lot of tough luck this year: more bloopers have found holes and he has given up more cheap hits.

Just watch. From now, he'll be absolutely unhittable. The guy isn't perfect, as much as we think he is. Can we just chill out? Talking about not resigning him after this outing is just a kneejerk reaction.

Why not do some research before saying certain things? Mo always hits a wall in August for a week or so, then he is his usual self. Same exact story every year for him. Struggle in April, dominate in May, June, July, half of August...hit a wall, then dominate down the stretch.

that was a tough loss, especially after the dramatic shelly duncan homer. I still trust mo, things like this happen, I do think he is being overused again, why didn't torre go with joba?
