I wonder what that play design was. It doesn't seem like one of Brad's cleverer ATOs. Kyrie seemed to think the pass should have gone to Morris rather than Tatum, but he didn't look a lot more open than Tatum was.
Maybe Morris was meant to receive the ball in a triple option, shooting, passing to Horford or passing to a flashing Irving as the case might be? If so, I can see why Hayward thought the odds on Tatum taking a contested Kobe shot were just as good ... at least except for the part where 3 points would have been a lot better than 2, which is getting overlooked in the dislike of the actual 0 point outcome.
For whatever reason Kyrie wanted Hayward to pass the ball to Al. If you re-watch the video few times you can lip read what Kyrie said. But like someone else mentioned its concerning the look Brad Stevens had at the end looking at Kyrie and Hayward ..almost as if he knows this thing could blow up at any second.
So far this is what the team has been dealing with:
- Brad Stevens unsure how to schuffle players and properly distribute minutes and is afraid to bench players
- Team meeting after the loss to Bucks
- Morris shoving Jaylen Brown
- Irving not being pleased number of times
- Brown not happy coming off the bench.
- Hayward not being 70% of how he used to be in Utah
- Al Horford aging, cannot survive back2back games
- Tatum also under performing...
This all points out to CHEMISTRY issues. Why ? Because both Tatum and Browns growth have been stunned by pretty boy Hayward.
Rozier was also on the tear but obviously took 7 steps back with Kyrie coming back.
Reality is, this team is not good and as of now, this is how I rank the East.
1. Clear cut Raptors ...
2. Bucks
3. Indiana
4th spot is up for grabs btw us and 76ers who also have chemistry issues (simmons, embiid and Butler).
If I am wrong PLEASE someone enlighten me...
