I think Miles was about as high-potential as you can get at pick 12. More likely to get an impact wing there than a big or guard. I'm still high on him, but the real issue of course is never being able to put ourselves into a situation to get a real impact player.

Maybe. But for now it appears we have been better off sticking with SGA or swinging for the fence with Porter. Hell at this point I'd probably even take an injured Zhaire Smith just because he's still an unknown. I don't think Myles will be a bust for where he was picked. His size athleticism bball IQ and defense will always give him a high floor. I just can't find anything else in his game to get really excited about.

My only real gripe with the Miles pick is that its seeming more and more likely that SGA should have been our guy and it should have been kind of obvious why tbh.

We literally had the three stooges making personnel decisions for this team the last 5 years. MJ, Cho, and Cliff, all had no **** clue what they were doing. I'm not sure if Mitch is that much better than Cho, but hes probably at least a slight improvement if his presence is enough to reduce MJ's involvement in the decision making process and we at least aren't being forced to build around Clifford's nonsensical vision of NBA basketball.

And yet Clifford's nonsensical version of basketball would have at least landed us Donovan Mitchell last year. I mean it's damn near impossible to be so bad at your job that you can't even luck out into a very good draft pick after 13 years except once with Kemba.

Clifford also was the reason we traded for Howard and was the reason we wasted most of the resources we had during his tenure trying to build him his 1990s vision of a good front court and it literally only netted us a single decent player (Cody). He was also likely a driving force behind the Belinelli trade and a bunch of other **** acquisitions. So much incompetence all around, but I agree with your earlier post that it all starts with MJ.

Trust me, I'm not advocating that we should have let Clifford make all our decisions. He was a **** Trainwreck. I'm pointing out the fact that even as terrible as Clifford was at evaluating talent he would have hit a homerun at least once with Mitchell. I'm pointing out the statistical improbability of how just unluckily and awful you have to be to miss every single pick.

Yeah, by all accounts that was an MJ pick. So MJ hit once in 13 years. Statistically that's still **** awful.

We beat Phoenix. The record is now 1-5. Three years ago, when Zeller went out, we had Tyler Hansbrough, who came through on a similar January road trip. The Hornets were 4-3, with one of the victories at home.

No one on this team exerts a high level of leadership, and no one has Tyler's and Jeremy's toughness. Those qualities have been missing since the 2015-16 season.

I would be interesting to see the trends of draft picks we have made.

I think Cho liked "high potential" players. Biz, Monk, Cody.
Cliff liked "win now" players. Frank, Mitchell (if we picked him)
MJ likes "winners". MKG, Kemba.

Its just 1 draft, but Mitch seems to be somewhere in between Cho and Cliff.
