Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Outside of the Duke players, I have NAW and Okpala as my top two winger players going into the 2019 draft. NAW needs to bulk up alot but he is a great defensive player, leads the ACC in steals. He is not super athletic but he is ultra skilled in his play making and shooting. I can easily see him being another Khris Middleton.

i am a big fan of NAW, but I don't see how u can create this thread after literally just crapping on Culver. they're very similar archetypes.

If you know basketball, you can easily see that NAW and Culver are totally different players and different levels in skill.

NAW and Culver are both potential late lottery - 20 range picks in this draft either of which could go higher more likely Culver due to his break out season to the right team. NAW has also had a decent season but I think is a couple steps behind Culver and in the same range as Okpala

Fun fact: He's the cousin of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Obviously on the Alexander side lol
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

He is worth a top 5 draft pick, but he is going to need along time to develop. He is not a franchise player but could be a fringe all star and make 2 or 3 appearances in the all star game, and have a few seasons where he averages +20ppg on good shooting number.
He seems to be getting a lot better as the season goes on and seems to have better games the harder the opponent is.

top 5 is way too rich but the guy is definitely underrated -- talking about a legit 6-5 CG that is a strong multi-position defender, long, athletic, can finish at the rim and is shooting 44% from 3.

I see a rich man's Aron Affalo. Not someone I would take in the top 10 but clearly a wing with low bust potential. I would clearly look at him in the 13-20 range. Guys like him translate but they do have to adjust to the NBA. He isn't much of a wing defender on the ball. His off ball D is his calling card. I really think he has the potential to be the Black Kyle Korver. He is in the mold of Korver and Joe Harris but with better off ball D.

Does he create his own shot much?

There’s something about him, but I don’t see him as a starter. More in 6th Man kind of role or a starter on a team without much talent. But think he will end up carving a role. He has some more upside and can become a legitimate nba scorer, but it’s going to take time.

I'm with you on this...although, I said the exact same things about Shai and Shamet, so what do I know.

Re: Nickeil Alexander-Walker
I was skeptical at first, he is now top 10 for me.
A great shooter, secondary playmaker. Occasionally can drive to the basket and a bad, but not horrible defender. He also has good ball skills.
He needs his body to be better, but he seems like a worker to me. I would be very happy with him in the mid round and I definitely think he should be a lotto pick.

Re: Nickeil Alexander-Walker
I think he's the best SG in this draft. Will copy and paste:
Alexander-Walker is a good shooter. In his sophomore year shooting 37.4% from 3pt and 77.4% from FT. He shows both of the ability to catch and shoot and also create off the bounce. He's a good ball handler who's comfortable with the ball in his hands, but he can also play off-ball. He's got very creative handles able to pick and choose his spots on the floor. Using his ball handling and quickness, Alexander-Walker easily gets to the rim, but at times he struggles to finish at times due to his lack of strength and skinnier frame. He does a good job at getting to the line. Off-ball, he does a good job freeing himself up behind the 3pt line with 89.7% of his 3pt shots coming assisted. For reference, Herro is at 81.7% of his 3pt shots assisted. Alexander-Walker's playmaking ability is really good for a 2 guard. His vision and passing ability is good. On the contrary, he can be turnover prone often forcing passes or misques. He averages 4ast to 2.9tos a game. On defense his smaller frame gets him in trouble, but he has quick feet and very quick hands. He averages 1.9stls a game as he flashes potential to be an impact perimeter defender as a SG and potentially PG. Athletic ability is good as he runs the floor well in the open floor doing a good job being able to control his athleticism.
I've been hyping him up for a while now... come back to this thread if he blows it up. I think he's got a ton of potential in the tank that'll surprise a ton of people if he gets the opportunity.
