Really impressive stuff, imho.

Melton, Robinson, Kurucs already looking solid. I really hope Vanderbilt's foot heals because he looked like a real difference maker on both ends when he did play in college.

I'm just making a good guess.

Big difference is he doesn't seem to have the baditude that Jabari does. Even if he's never lockdown, you can get away with guys that may not be the best defenders but at least understand and try to conform with team concepts and schemes if they're dropping 20+ on the other end.

The problem is that Knox might never become a good team defender and the early results aren't good. Markkanen, who I consider to be a very bad defender averaged 1.4 blocks and steals(combined) PER 36 last season. Knox is averaging 1.1 blocks and steals(combined PER 36). Markkanen also fouled a lot less. Still could become a very good player but he has a very long way to go.

Watched Luka live last Friday when Mavs played Wolves. What impressed me the most about Luka is his vision. He has this move where he drives to the rim and then he makes it looks like he is taking a floater but instead he fakes it and dishes out a perfect pass the player standing in corner. That single play killed Wolves on friday. Mavs ran it many times and it did work like a charm Whenever Luka did this play, he drew a lot of attention (almost 2-3 players were surrounding him) & in that process, the player in corner was open. Offensively, kid is just sensationally talented.

What I don’t get is that Doncic has taken 8 shots over 43 feet which you can find in the shooting index at basketball reference but the same website has him as attempting 1 heave for the season.

Are there classifications of a heave literally the type of shot rather than a distance I wonder?

Maybe 50+ feet with the actual motion of a heave rather than a standard jump shot.

Confusing to say the least anyway.

in the glossary on BBRef say:
"Heave attempts (beyond half-court)"

but Doncic has made 5 shot over 62ft so maybe BBRef heave attempt is not correct

Attempted 5 you mean?

Yeah it makes no sense at all, half court is like 47 feet yet 1 heave but 7 shots over 47 feet :s

You can be more than 47 feet from the basket and still be ahead of the halfcourt line. Pythagorean theorem my dude.

Amazing. Saving grace is that Ayton looks solid also.

Ayton looks more than solid, his only problem is that expectation for No.1 pick are always very big.

Yes it can. It can't be more than 50 meters, but it can be up to 52.23 feet.

There's already >2m people who bothered to log on and vote him for the ASG*
The guy is incredibly popular and a goldmine from an advertising perspective.

*Or 2 poor Mavs interns who logged on and voted 1 million times each

So anyone left to contend ROY at this point lol? What a joke people arguing their rookie is better than Luka when the race was over months ago. This guy is a guranteed HOF talent that will win ROY, MVPs like with his eyes closed. You use the term generational talent for a player like Luka instead of using it so loosely. If I am GS, I am trading Steph for this guy. Luka will bring way more revenue for UA if they got him as well.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

do you know that the basket is 6ft inside the court?

sqrt((47-6)²+25²) = 48.06 ft

where did you study, dude?

Luka attempted a backcourt heave vs the Suns because of Oubre's dunk.
