Doncic conspiracies.. No need :noway:

No need to post if you only watched 2-3 Mavs games.

1- Doncic being an all-star is still not a sure as of right now. I don't know why you are taking it for granted.

2- Why are you being an a**hole? The other poster is right. Barnes doesn't pass to anyone. Everyone watching the games know that.

He's consistently racking up votes, the only way he doesn't go is if players and media don't give him any votes at all. Certainly not expecting Barnes to give him any lol.

Luka can finish fan votes on second place with 1 vote advance against 3rd player or 1mio votes advance against 3rd player and it doesn't change anything.

Fan votes represent 50% and you will have table (1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place...). You will have same table from players vote and same table from media vote, jut that the last two will represent 25% each.

Luka will for example be 2nd in fan vote, 20th in players vote and 10th in media vote. Somebody else will be 3rd in fan vote, 4th in player vote and 3th in media vote. You think that Luka will be on end table for all-stars starters higher than that "somebody else"?

If you think so, then you have no clue how all-star voting works...

I actually never checked how the new system works. I think he should get a good amount of media votes, coz even BSPN are nuthugging him, which is great for his popularity.

If Luka is voted a starter over Durant it would be incorrect. Luka is good but he isn’t at the level of any of these guys yet:
Curry, Durant, James, George, Harden, AD, Jokic.

For starters, consistency across the three voting groups is the most important, so Doncic has little chance - a low ranking in even one group will doom him. However, he might actually have a better chance as a reserve.

I don't think anyone ever hoped for him to be a starter, he'll be 9-12th guy and that's good.

I think he has close to no chance as a starter (as he should) and a small chance as a reserve IF he has a great couple of games until the coaches are voting. And anyway, he probably only gets in if there are injuries and Silver puts him in. There are some established guys with a legitimate case ahead of him.

I wish he got in though. It would be great.

Doncic’s best shot for All-Star game is being voted the captain.

I don't know man, did you see what Kerr had to say about him: "I do have a vote for reserves, and what I meant to say is he looks like an all star. He makes is or not, he's an all star." So he surely is on the coaches radar.

The problem I see is, some others looks like All Star too and are playing for the winning teams. I’m sure some coaches will think, it’s too early for him.
The votes for the captain look long shot too, but it depends on if the very positive trend from first week results and second can continue. He has got 680K votes in first week and 1.5 mio in second and I have the feeling that euphoria in Europe about All Stars votes only started after the second week results. If the trend continues he has some chances. Let’s see next partial results and we will know, how realistic that is.

Its in NBAs best interest to have him in the ASG so I think its almost certain Luka will make it. They can see how popular he is in the US and especially in Europe and thats a great thing for the NBA. And its not like he is Zaza, Luka is actually a bubble All-Star and the way he has been playing in the last 6 weeks, he definitely should be in strong consideration. After all, ASW is a popularity contest and Luka is one of the most popular players right now.

Who cares about the All-Star game, guys? You completely went off topic, if you don't mind me saying, there is another thread for this discussion.

I don't usually but it's pretty rare to see a rookie voted

Luka with 5 straight games of at least 25 pts. First rookie since Steph to do that.

Last rookie with 6 straight 25pts - Tim Duncan.

They need to get this kid some help in Dallas. I don't think I've ever said this about anyone 3 months into his NBA career, but there you go.

Yea i feel the same as you. I didn't think it's possible to even think this way about a 19yo kid. He was literally playing alone for the last 5 minutes, no one else could even hit a shot. It's incredible how many open looks he creates for them. I mean Barnes was a reliable 2nd scorer but lately it's like monstars took his powers.

Yeah, 25/8/8, +8. He didn't have a lot of calls go his way also. Was potentially fouled on a 3pointer and a couple of his baskets. 3/9 from 3 points, but 1 of those was a shot while the quarter was ending and 1 was him thinking he had been fouled and just shooting the ball.

He had a lot of good passes at the end of the 4th quarter, but the Mavs couldn't hit from 3point range.

He has averaged pretty much 23/7/5 for more a month now. I think he's starting to have a legitimate case for the all-star game, he's right on the bubble. No one should scream "overrrated" if he gets in.

No one expected Doncic to be this good this quickly.

I was happy, but not elated, when the Mavs drafted him because I expected about a three season time table for him to become good. I thought he would average around 15/4/4 in his rookie season.
Now that Doncic is better than anyone expected the timeline for the post-Dirk era has been accelerated. I think the Mavs are already ahead of the curve here in their rebuild but what their next big move should be is a little unclear.

Luka records 25-8-8 line in a Loss vs Spurs... He scored at least 25 Pts in each of his last 5 games
