I thought Parsons was an expiring.

Teams that might otherwise be interested in trading for the Mavericks‘ Dennis Smith Jr. may prefer to try their luck with a talented crop of point guards in free agency, writes Sean Deveney of Sporting News. The Magic and Suns, who have been mentioned in trade rumors involving Smith, will both have cap room available this summer and could try to upgrade at the position without giving up any assets.
Kyrie Irving and Kemba Walker will headline this year’s class, which will also feature D’Angelo Russell and Terry Rozier. They are all more traditional point guards than Smith, who was bumped out of that position in Dallas when the Mavericks drafted Luka Doncic.
“He is very athletic, but he’s not a playmaker and not a great shooter,” a front office executive said of DSJ, per Deveney. “If you have money under the cap this offseason, there are other guys you can pursue who fit better, who can pass and score.”
There are also concerns that Smith is already clashing with management midway through his second season in the league, Deveney adds. Dallas is reluctant to give up on such a talented young player a year after taking him with the No. 9 pick, but another source says he will eventually be traded, whether it happens before the February 7 deadline or sometime in the future.

Ugh sometimes people are so frickin dumb.
There's publicly available information that dispels both of those notions that I bolded.

Don't trust the salaries listed on the Trade Machine especially if it says the contract length is 0 years.
Knight is guaranteed $15.6 mil next season. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/houston-rockets/brandon-knight-8058/

Mudiay and Frank are combo guards backups right now, chit I believe Frank will end up a 6'7 210lbs+ PG/SG/SF... Only way I'm resign Mudiay as a backup PG/SG is if we strikeout on some big fish FA's and it's a 1yr or 2yr team option deal... only 1yr or 2yr team option deals moving forward for everyone medicore... that would be my policy as a GM.
Just amazes me how teams like Denver (Monte Morris etc...) keeps finding talent and Big City Knicks scouts sleep.... Geeeeesssh... smh
Question off topic... why do the Knicks sign another 2-two player that's 26 yrs old, combo that can't shoot... in Kadeem Allen ... smh Knicks keep doing **** back forwards... chit if you are going to 2 way someone John Jenkins should be the guy, dude is killing it in the GLeague .. or a younger PG ... smh

I’m well aware, I am far to entertained by the financial side of the game...even griped about shams capulator being mistaken on Baker’s contract so much that they finally corrected it lol.
Knight’s extra season is why Chicago would be getting Houston’s 1st round pick in that deal, sending Parker’s expiring to us, with us sending Houston Lee & Lance (and their SRP?) to give them more defenders who can hit open 3s; to give us cap flexibility; and to give Chicago an extra pick for cap space that they weren’t going to use anyway...because their plans/dreams are centered on having cap space in 2020; when Knight will have expired.
Not that I’m expecting a trade like that, but it’s one that I think would help all 3 teams towards their goals at reasonable costs. Since Houston needs defenders that can hit open shots, the Bulls need to utilize Parker’s expiring to get assets before they end up just buyin him out, and we could use the cap space if it doesn’t cost us a significant asset.

Well we did find Allonzo Trier. Known commodities, slept on for whatever reasons but known. Monte Morris wasn’t some outside the box find.

Nah.. Allonzo is a under size volume shooter... pretty much that's it. Lou Will mode but very lite. The same player in college not a find.
Monte Morris will have been our starting PG right now... and yes Morris has greatly improved since high top Iowa St(I watched him for 3 yrs)... it's only his second year and he has starting stuff... that's my point. He is just one of many examples I can pull out, especially from Denver..
