I'll say it: if the Pats win next week, might be the greatest non-Super Bowl win of Brady's career.
Snow Bowl and the win in PIT in his first AFC championship game would be tough to top IMO. The DeflateGate game was totally awesome. Two years ago trouncing PIT was too, as was beating IND after the ...05 season?
But yeah a road win to get to the SuperBowl is sweet. Brady's 6-1 at home in AFC titles games and 2-0 in PIT (suckkkk it), but 0-1 in IND, and 0-2 in **** DEN. 6-1 at home and 2-3 on the road. **** crazy ass numbers but let's even up that road record!

Good luck the rest of this season. I don't really hate you guys. I have nothing but the greatest respect for Belichick and Brady. They are both the GOAT. I will keep up my Sony victory lap as long as i keep up my Marcus Smart one, I'm right about so little so gotta bask. The defense looked amazing today, especially Flowers and the secondary, the Chargers are pretty legit at WR. The Chiefs are tough as hell in KC, but Mahomes can be baited into mistakes and their D really sucks against the run. Will be another big Sony and play action game plan. Also James White is a god damn legend.
From September 30th.

Trey Flowers is that defenses Horford, makes everybody around him much better without putting up huge numbers himself.

I predict that the more people say the Chiefs are going to win, the better chance the Pats have at winning. BB is at his best when he can pump the ‘nobody believes in you card’ and Brady is pissed the **** off about all the chatter.

Sucks we have to go on the road. We're 3-5 on the road with some rough losses. Never won a super bowl while going on the road. And we're 0-2 in the AFC CG when on the road. So the odds arent favoring us.

Small sample sizes. Tom's at his best when he feels like he has something to prove. We're good. We might not win, but it won't be because we're on the road.

Did a cursory check of the weather in KC this weekend. Low 4, High 14, Sunny, wind 8mph. Damn, I am glad I don't have to deal with that brutal **** anymore.

Having to play 3 games before Super Bowl obviously very tough. If Chiefs had that path, I suspect they lose to Patriots in AFC championship game. Giants have obviously pulled it off but not many teams have.
On the other hand, if the Patriots win that game in Miami or even vs Pittsburgh instead, the Chiefs may have beaten Seattle on the road knowing that they have zero margin for error. They lost that game 38-31 knowing it was pretty meaningless game given that they would be playing pathetic Raiders at home in last game of season but the sense of urgency to win it would have been dramatically higher to win it if the Patriots had beaten the Dolphins or Steelers.
I don't think the Patriots have a truly "great team" this year in terms of talent like they often have had in the past but they are in position to steal a Super Bowl win since the team is built in a very wise fashion...deep roster. Less great players near/at their peaks than the past but more high quality depth with 3 very good running backs et cetera. Chiefs losing their running back helps since it makes it a little easier to focus on Hill. Saints are banged up as well so Patriots may be best off facing them if they make it past KC.
I would not feel safe betting against this Patriots against KC even though it is the road. While KC atmosphere will be incredible since they are starved for success, this Patriot team may not be loaded with superstars given their best players are all a little bit past their peaks, they are relatively healthy. Gronk probably has his legs in fairly good shape after that last game from not being tackled as much....so if they need to use him for 5 or 6 passes against Chiefs, he may be up for it.
I may be missing someone but the rookie OL from Georgia and Josh Gordon are really the only 2 players that one could have expected to be very significant contributors that won't be playing. Hopefully, Gordon overcomes his personal issues but he has already contributed a lot to the team this year by saving at least a little wear and tear on the Patriots wide receivers/running backs. I realize other draft picks hurt but some of them probably not expected to contribute much this year.
Mahomes has a cannon for an arm and Hill is ridiculously fast but the bad weather may hurt the Chiefs more than the Patriots. Windy/cold weather probably hurts their passing attack more than the Patriots passing attack since they are more dependent on long passes/speed.

Road/home means a lot in the NFL playoffs so I wouldn't necessarily say that.
But I am optimistic about the Patriots chance to make and possibly win the Super Bowl.
Saints/Rams/Chiefs "on average" where all better than Patriots this year but Patriots amongst all of those teams at least probably best constructed to survive the inevitable war of attrition.
Granted James White isn't a runner but a real good pass receiver who rarely makes mistakes. But the Patriots showed this year, they have at least 4 players that can serve as quality running backs in terms of catching and/or running the ball.
None of the 4 players are "stars" like a Corey Dillon or even Curtis Martin but if any one of them went down for the year as long as the other stayed healthy, no huge hit to the Patriots chances.
Other than Edelman who has to be banged up giving some of the tough hits he took and how he fought for extra yards, I think among the skill positions players the Patriots must have made it out of the last game in great shape.

If the Pats go on to win the next two games, and take home another SB trophy, would you want to see Brady retire? I know he's talking about another couple of years, but wouldn't it be great to see him leave on such an amazing note.
The Pats dynasty is most likely coming to an end pretty soon(unless they get someone in the draft who can be the next Brady), I just think that after a GOAT career it would be the icing on the cake to see Brady hoist the trophy one last time, and then just walk away.
What do you think? If the Pats win it all, should Brady go ahead and call it quits, and leave at the top of his game?

No. I'd want him to play until he's an average or worse QB. Or if they have another option lined up (but even if they draft someone this year, he'd be at least 2+ years away from being as good as Brady).
If he retires, who is the quarterback for the 19-20 Patriots? They traded away Garoppolo so they better get more than one full year out of Brady or I'd be pretty pissed at the decision-making on that one.

If we win the SB I sure as **** hope we try to win another one next year.
Brady has already said he wants to play until he sucks. I would too. I don't need my sports heroes to ride off into the sunset in cinematic fashion, and we traded away both of our plan Bs, so I sure hope he stays healthy and good for a stunningly long time (I mean, he already has, but don't lose that fire and desire Tom!).

Nick Foles is likely a free agent this offseason.
That said, I do think that Brady's got more years in him.

Nick Foles is going to get a lot of money from someone I'm sure. FA QB acquisitions are a losing bet unless you can get the next Manning or Brees-level QB. Pretty rare for that to happen. More often you end up signing Kirk Cousins for 28 million a season and destroying your entire cap for the privilege. Almost every good QB is on the team that drafted him, Brees is probably the only top-10 QB who was signed or traded for.

Teams suck at evaluating QBs, and free agency entails more risk than a draft pick, given the salary implications. Foles IMO is legit tho, and he has experience playing for Chip Kelly (who has been a strong influence on BB's offensive philosophy). Not saying we should go after him, but he'd be an option if we had to replace Brady.
