DJ seriously screwed up by turning down TJ.it would have been the biggest fight of his career.

Also, I’m kind of interested in the douche fighting Cowboy. Never heard of him but he talked a big game and he’s young, and the ufc needs fresh blood

You and i are excited about HC v TJ but is the sports world?

The guy fighting Cowboy front kicked Dariush through a glove tap, then finished him 45 secs later. Unapologetic about it. "Dariush is a rhythm fighter, I had to disrupt his rhythm".

TJ jumped on the scale first thing this morning. I think the early weigh ins could well be the difference. He effectively has a day and a half to recover. He'll be huge in the cage and recovered from the cut. He's better technically already.

The thing with HC is his ability to improve between fights. He's been in the sport for...not long. And has looked significantly better every fight. It's why it was so worth betting on him against DJ...their trajectories were aimed differently.

I agree, TJ is still the pick. But HC might hang in there. He also will be hard to gameplan against.

Did you score that fight for Cejudo? This doesn't diminish your point but I personally thought DJ won.

I didn't score it but thought DJ had edged it whole-fight-wise, IIRC.

Pretty sure he knows he's not getting a shot at Woodley now. Woodley said this week he's moving up to 185 later this year. Said he will "fight the winner of Whitaker and Fatselum".

I’d love to see Woodly vs either
185 is a garbage pile right now, it’s ripe for the picking

He made a good point that a lot of 185 is WWs who moved up. Good chance Mousasi is best MW on planet right now.

Ya, 185s weakness probably stems from there being a 20 pound gap to 205. It’s too big a gap for guys to drop down. Imo that has always been the weakest division of the 4 big divisions (55/70/85/205)

I think it's lame and overly self-congratulatory on the UFC's part, but the part I don't like is that champions will only get one belt, unless they win in multiple divisions.

I feel like there was a point post Anderson where it was actually good...when Rockhold was champ and Mousasi/Weidman/Romero/Jacare/Whitaker were contending. But in general yea I think 170 and 155 are much better. 205 has always been a top heavy but shallow division.

185 is a strong division right now. There's no clear contender because there's so much parity. You can still see plenty of athletic guys with cardio and power there. The 20 lb gap between it and 205, while having the same as between lw-ww for ww-mw, actually played in its favor too. Fighters thought they'd be giving up too much weight so just about anybody who could cut down to 185. A lot of tall, muscular guys would do that. But recently a couple have moved up like Smith and Santos because they saw how much 205 devolved.

185 still has - Whittaker, Romero, Jacare, Gastelum, Adesanya, Weidman, Rockhold, Beefcake, Branch, Brunson, Cannonier, Tavares, Jotko, Theodorou, Anders, etc. And they got an in flux of top prospects in Hernandez, Heinisch, Perez, Holland, Marquez, etc. Definitely not weak.

So there was a settlement in the Connor/Khabib hearing. Wondering what that implies. Im guessing it's monetary and the UFC will cover it, and the suspension will be for like 6 months from the night of the altercation, which would mean they could fight in April again, so basically no real suspension.

Ok, looks like Connor gets 50k and 6 months.
Khabib gets 500k and 9 months.
The two goons get 1 year and 25k each.
