No you are correct I am anti-tank but i dont have a choice so I have to roll with it. We dont have a super star player on this roster, but Zion might be. We drafted David Thompson Jr once and he opted for the ABA, Julius Erving was a Hawk and went to the ABA. We traded Paul Gasol on draft day. Thompson and Dr J were superstars. Nique is the only Hawk Superstar outside of Petit and we traded him. The last trade needs some time to evaluate.

I'd love to make a run at Klay, but I doubt he's leaving the west coast for the east coast. I hear he's pretty tied to CA. If we could get Rozier at $10m/yr and Vucevic at $30m/yr, would that be worth pursuing? Rozier is a very good 6th man and if he and Bembry continue to develop their 3-pt shots then those two guards could be a real 2-way headache to all the other 2nd string back courts. Always attacking. Vucevic gives us a skilled big man who can spread the floor, although he is a little bit of a liability on defense.

2. He isn't worth $30 mil.
3. His defense is not good enough to play next to Cpllins long term.

Rozier - meh. He's gonna want a boatload and he's looking to start. Also....we hate the Seltics here so I don't want none of their middling overrated players - see Crowder and Bradley since they left Brad.

No worries, thanks for the feedback! I think the east is pretty weak right now so if we think our young players are good enough then we could strike next year.

In response to how much I’d give Klay, the max. I think he’s the real glue piece that keeps that team rolling. Always guards the other team’s best wing back court scorer and spreads the floor for everyone else to do work.

I can’t think of too many free agent centers I’d rather sign for our team than Dedmon, but Vucevic is really good offensively. Although, I do agree his defense is suspect. Obviously, I’m on the Zion bus right now, but we will win too many games to be in that game. Honestly, if we have a 5 and 7 I’d see if whoever lands #1 would trade for both our picks. I’d rather have a superstar than two potentially good players.

You might be right, but here’s my reasoning on how it could be good for both the Hawks and Klay.

He’s only eligible for 30%, but in two years he’d be eligible for 35%. If he signed for two years he’d get a chance to showcase himself to prove he’s a star worth a long term max at 35%.

If we decide he’s not for us, just about any contender in the next two years would trade us assets for his services.

I realize that puts $50m in two wings on our roster, but I’m really hoping we find a way this year to trade Baze (and Prince). Baze is obviously way overpaid and Prince is just isoJoe with half the skills.
