Looks like Wiz considering Porter trade.
Wonder if RoLo, Portis, Parker for Porter, Biyombo gets the job done?

OKC trades:
Patrick Patterson
2019 1st Round Pick
Chi trades:
Bobby Portis
OKC gets a solid stretch 4 who by the percentages becomes their 3rd best 3 point shooter. Pairs with Steven Adams to provide a tough frontline come playoff time. Also OKC is essentially locked into their current roster position for the next 3 years, so re-signing Portis to a 3 year deal at the end of the season seems like it could work well for both sides. OKC goes for it these next three years. Portis gets a legitimate chance to start and log minutes, improve his game with a playoff team, and become a free agent again at 26.

Porter hurts the tank. I look at him as a super version of holiday. They should have never matched that nets offer.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Boylen can easily fix that lol.
Im still in favor of netting Porter, I think he's a solid glue guy that can play the small ball PF. Young enough to run with our crew years down the line. Not like we are signing anyone significant next two years.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

With this Oladipo injury is there any possibility the Pacers would be interested in Lavine? Could be a spot for Jabari if theyre looking to add offense.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
About the upcoming trade deadline and next season...which players/names do you think -being realistic-, could come to the Bulls in a trade?
I mean, right now tanking and preparing next seasons roster are the priorities.
I think we're in desperate need of a C, SF and PG

Damn it! I just wanted to come on here, asking if you would give up Portis for a 2nd round pick.

I have two thoughts on this proposal:
1) Is it even possible for the Thunder to trade their 2019 FRP? Their 2020 FRP is going to Orlando (as of right now). If I'm reading this correctly, they can't:
The Stepien rule applies only to future first round picks. For example, if this is the 2017-18 season, then a team can trade its 2018 first round pick without regard to whether they had traded their 2017 pick, since their 2017 pick is no longer a future pick. But they can't trade away both their 2018 and 2019 picks, since both are future picks. Teams sometimes work around this rule by trading first round picks in alternate years, or by giving one team the right to swap picks with the other.
2) What kind of money would Portis command in your opinion? We already have Grant as our starting PF making 9 million. I don't think it'd be wise to add Portis on a higher salary to the mix, unless you can play him at Center as well.

Damn looks like they cant. I thought of it as this current year didnt count as a future pick as we are currently in that year, but based on that definition it still does.
I could definitely see Bobby going a similar route of Julius Randle. Taking approx 10-12 mil for a few years to try and build up some value again as he's kinda been relegated to a bench role most of his time here.

The fact that I actually took some time to consider that question says it all.

I'm liking Russell...he's shooting 3's at better rate 38%. He's still turn-over prone, but not a bad risk.

I'd definitely be interested in Portis, but I honestly wouldn't want to give up all that much honestly. Maybe Diallo as a kind of reset on your timeline with another wing, but I don't know if you'd be interested in that.

I think we agree with Portis' value. We love the kid but if he's not gonna start, his value has limits. If nobody wants to pay him starter money, I think we'd all be happy to keep him on a reasonable deal (i.e. $8-$9M per season) for a few more years.
I have Grant on my fantasy team and he's been great for me, so I'm hoping he stays in his current role this season.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Darnell Mayberry from The Athletic on the Bulls upcoming trade deadline regarding Kris Dunn:
In other words: Is Kris Dunn a part of the plan or not?
If the answer is no, beyond retaining his cost-controlled contract there would be little reason for the Bulls to not include Dunn in trade talks over the next two weeks. That’s not a knock on Dunn. He’s a good player and could help most teams. But barring some major creativity, the Bulls might have to dangle Dunn for any kind of substantive return at this year’s deadline. Dunn might just be their best trade chip.
The Bulls’ top front office execs recently scouted Ja Morant, the 6-foot-3 sophomore point guard at Murray State who has shot up draft boards thanks to one eye-popping performance after another. He’s now projected as a top-five pick. If the Bulls miss out on Zion Williamson, Morant could be their man.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Particularly if the Bulls are starting to think that Dunn is not in the long-term plans, we are probably looking at a mini-reboot. I would really be trying to trade Lopez and Parker to take on money for 2019-20 season and hopefully get an asset as well. If the Knicks think they have a chance at 2 max guys this summer, they need to Lee, Hardaway Jr., and probably Frank N as well. I wonder if they'd give up a 1st rd pick if we took all 3 for expiring salary?

quietly because NJ is not getting much attention, if he was on a higher profile team he'd get more I think.
Actually NJ is quietly having a very good season, especially lately. Not sure if anyone will be looking forward to playing a full series against them, should be fun to watch although I expect they are a year away from being scary.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
It’s wild to think Bulls had a 10 game losing streak and are only the 4th worst record wise, the bottom 3 are really bad they would need another 10 game losing streak just to get into the top 2 picks I think. Also that sounds so depressing
