Terrible idea but whatever...

reconciliation is part of being human. durant didn't commit any crimes or physically hurt anyone. him and nick were teammates for a decade. it would be weird for him not to be there. if kd attends you know he has the blessing of nick and the thunder to do so. maybe that should be a signal to those bitter ones who vow to hold a life long grudge over a career decision.

I’m not really into investing much energy in hating Durant. It’s kind of like a bad divorce in which both sides learn to be civil. He just seems like the kind of guy that thinks just because there wasn’t a fight means that everything all good. Nope. Never. Come back for nick if you want but that’s all.

it will be fine eventually. toronto forgives vince. okc will eventually forgive durant. the first step is teammates being cool with each other. this would be a nice moment.

people will look back on his decision in ten years and wonder why people were so upset.

I think you underestimate the college sports fan mentality of the most thunder fans. I dont know if there is any other professional sports city that compares. Green Bay? Maybe. Hatred for Durant is probably second to hatred for the university of Texas.

Also, even to this day on the general board he gets ripped constantly by other fan bases. They’ll eventually be another player who the hate transfers to but the weakness of his move will always be a part of his legacy.

Westbrook haters will, yes. So this stance of yours does not surprise me.

I ultimately question the fan allegiances on here sometimes. This is one of those times.

It's a calculated attempt to get a rise out of people. As always. Yawn.

Not sure Vince did that :
- Leave your team to go to your best rival that you just lost in a 7 games playoff series leading 3-1
- That team being a 73 wins regular season wins with 3 all stars
- Don't bother to tell your ex best teammates
- Start trash talking on your ex team on burner accounts
etc etc...

As I said, I don't give a **** if Durant is going to Nick's party or not. Just think that's not what most fans would have wanted (and if Nick jersey is going to be retired it's mostly because of the fans, even if he did a lot for the Thunder)

Honoring Nick is showing how much our organization cares about loyalty, commitment and altruism.
Then at the same time we bring back for the first time the player that represents to most fans the exact opposite of this (whether it's true or not). Just weird...

Anyone thats a fan of basketball should hold a grudge against him forever. Guy broke the NBA.

Too soon

Not hoping he get's a bad response from the Crowd, if any, but I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Hopefully people just ignore him.

Nah, I'm hoping he gets booed out of town. In fact I hope they don't even serve him wherever he goes out to eat.

The greatest coward in the history of sports. Wouldn't invite him to funeral, let alone a party.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
