What is wrong with the Indians?

They have just been unable to score runs of late and are flat out playing like crap. How the heck do you lose a series to the Nationals?

Hafner seems to be turning it around some. He had a big homer last night and the game tieing double in the ninth tonight before Shoppach's homer. If Hafner gets hot, or even starts producing anywhere close to a normal level for him, this offense does a complete 180. You are right though, the offense was slumping. It still feels like the bottom of the order lasts forever some nights. I just keep waiting for the top of the order to come and it never does. Hopefully we've turned a corner.

We're still not hitting all that well and you're right we really need Hafner to turn it on. But at least now our pitching is looking a tad better.

Ben Francisco has given the offense a nice unexpected boost this last week. It also helps that we have been playing the D-Rays. Would love to take the next series before the break.

Tribe looked pretty damn good for the last 4 days.

Well done.

Damnit.

I have to bring this back since the Indians are in their annual summer swoon. This team sucks. I've never seen a team tank as much as the Indians the last 3 seasons.

Wedge should be fired and frankly they should just clean house. No way should this be allowed to continue

Outlaw I hate to do it to you, but do you care to guess what Wedge's career second half record is as a manager? You might be very surprised. The good news is Detroit is playing just as poorly as us. I keep waiting for Haf to start hitting to give us that extra boost we need, but it just hasnt happened. Somebody needs to step up and catch this team on fire while Detroit is still keeping the door open.

Well the Tribe has lost the last 2 games 3-2 and 1-0 and it's starting to look more and more like whomever doesn't win the division isn't going to make the playoffs. We're just lucky that the Tigers are stinking just as badly as we are.

What is the indians 2nd half record over the last 2 seasons because I know that they've actually given away the playoffs each year.

I'm starting to lose my belief that Hafner is going to start hitting. The most recent offensive slump has coincided with Martinez hitting woes.

You have absolutely no right to talk the way you bash everything associated with the Cavs. I'm more negative regarding the Indians because they've given more reason to be

When I say you have no right to talk, of course I don't mean you have no right to talk. You can say anything you want, but my view is that you are way more negative than am I. But, the Indians have been pissing me off because they have shown an inability to score

Well, the indians still aren't hitting, but at least they have been getting good pitching.

This team disgusts me. They just don't know how to play baseball. I blame them as well as the manager. But how in the world do you start a 9th inning tied. The first man up to bat hits a double then the next 3 indians strike out. They are idiots. It was the bottom of the 9th they only need one run. Where's the bunt, cmon at least hit the ball to the right side of the infield. Geez, I don't even call it small ball, it's smart ball.

Pathetic

After they idiot up the 9th inning I knew it was over. Well they've given up 4 so far at the top of the 10th. I'm pretty sure you can call this one another we're too stupid to win kinda loss.

Oh, no wonder, it's Borowski.

Hell of a game tonight.

Our pitching was dominant. Fausto and Borowski.

Our hitting was at least solid, although they still failed to get some fundamentals down. (Peralta and Garko come to mind)

Our defense was poor. Garko in particular had a bad game.

It might be just me but Hafner looks like he is getting his stroke back bit by bit. Of course it doesnt help that his injury means he cant run worth crap, when he couldnt really run before anyway, but his swing looks like its starting to come around. He's had some well hit balls these last two games, just some unlucky breaks.

Lots of things to work on, but a win is a win. Now its time build off this and use our off day tomorrow wisely.
